HR Co-ordinator Grade 6 - £19238 to £21745pa Contract: Permanent, term time plus three Hours: 30hrs per week Job Purpose : The HR Coordinator provides a professional, confidential, administrative, and advisory HR service to the Academy. They act as the first point of contact to Managers for recruitment, training and contractual queries. They also support the SLT with specific HR project work and employee relations matters as needed. Main Duties: Recruitment

 Work with recruiting managers to consider and identify the most appropriate forum for advertising vacancies and ensure a positive response

 Advise managers on recruitment processes/best practice, coordinate candidate response and monitor response

 Place adverts, prepare application packs, receive applications, and arrange interviews

 Ensure the appropriate DBS checks are undertaken for current staff and new recruits

 Assist in recruitment decisions, at shortlisting and interview stage as required

 Produce employment offer letters, contracts, and starter packs

 Maintain HR recruitment records, and school central record

 Support the SLT to conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) following performance appraisals

 Research and suggest potential external training and development opportunities to meet Academy requirements

 Liaise with staff and trainers to coordinate staff attendance on external and internal courses/programmes

 Ensure all training materials, rooms, and catering requirements are organised in a timely manner HR Administration  Act as first point of contact for general internal and external HR queries, including reference requests

 Ensure monthly payroll changes are prepared accurately and comprehensively, within agreed timescales

 Continually monitor employment terms to ensure managers and staff are informed of end of fixed term contracts and any other contractual changes

 Track probation review and annual performance appraisal deadlines, and liaise with managers to ensure timely completion and documentation

 Ensure all leavers and changes to staff contracts are processed in line with the relevant HR checklists

 Take minutes for Joint Consultative Negotiations (JCN) and other meetings as and when required and ensure they are completed and circulated in a timely manner

 Maintain staff electronic and paper records

 Ensure the smooth running of HR projects as they arise Person Specification

Criteria Essential or Measured By Desirable

Experience

 HR Assistant/Administration background for twelve months D AF / I

 General administrative/clerical experience of E AF / I two years minimum

Qualifications/ Training

 NVQ2 Business Administration or equivalent E AF / I qualification in relevant discipline

 Good numeracy and literacy skills E AF / I

Knowledge/ Skills

 Effective use of ICT packages  Ability to use relevant equipment  Good keyboard skills  Ability to work as part of a team AF / I  Ability to relate to children and adults  Awareness of safeguarding in schools  Good organizing, planning and prioritizing skills  Good attention to detail
