Hi. My Name Is Kevin and Today I Am Going to Tell You, the Class, About My Favorite TV

The Simpson’s Hi. My name is Kevin and today I am going to tell you, the class, about my favorite TV show, The Simpson’s. I will tell you about the history of the show the characters and the growth beyond the TV show. So if you’re ready to hear about the hilarious world of the Simpson’s, hop on the Simpson Express and let’s take a tour through Springfield. The Simpson’s came to be when cartoonist Matt Groening got a phone call from a friend asking if he would be interested in making one minute cartoons for the Tracey Ullman show. Matt agreed and decided to name the short cartoon The Simpson’s. He named most of the characters after his family members. In Gronings own words, “It gave the animators my rough sketches… I thought they were going to clean them up a little, but it turns out all they were doing were tracing the drawings I sent them.” In 1989, the Simpson’s appeared for the first time as a full 30-minute cartoon on Fox. They were immediately a hilarious success. According to the Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia, “the Simpson’s helped establish Fax as a major television network. Now, let’s meets the characters. Homer is the dad in the Simpson’s family. Homer loves his family and to prove it he will do anything, even if it makes him look stupid. According to the Simpson’s official website, “Sometimes frustrated at being fat and bald, Homer enjoys flash backs now and again, which show him fat with a full head of hair.” Marge is the Simpson’s family wife who just barely holds the group together. Marge has really tall, swirly blue hair. And somehow, she manages to expand Homer’s salary so they can afford things like Homer’s doughnut supply. Lisa is the family sister who is very smart and cares for other people. She does great in school and plays saxophone in the band. Bart is one of the most important characters on the show. He is the Simpson family brother who is often judged by his bad thoughts and actions. Bart enjoys skateboarding, bubble gum and buying things at the Kwik-E-Mart. The youngest family member is Maggie. Maggie enjoys Sucking on her pacifier. She also happens to be slightly ahead of Homer in vocabulary. She is almost always happy. The popularity of the Simpson’s has grown widely outside the show. Doesn’t everybody want a Homer pillow or a Lisa planner? There is a wide range of clothing, school supplies and of course, toys and video games. Bart’s early command, “don’t have a cow man” has made it on several bumper stickers and Homer’s catch phrase; “Doh!” has made it to Webster’s Dictionary. In conclusion, three things that you have just learned about the Simpson’s are it’s history, characters and growth beyond the TV show. Even though they have been on the air a long time, they are still very popular, and at 17 years, The Simpson’s hold the record for being the longest running animated series in television history.
