Intro to Kinard Track and Field: Season Starts April 10th • Track and Field is a non-cut sport and is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. • A doctor’s physical and athletic fee must be completed/paid before an athlete can practice with the team. • $82 athletic fee • Practices will be from 3:20 to 5:00 Monday through Friday all athletes.

Track Meets: • Most track meets will take place at the Fossil Ridge High School track. The district meet will be taking place at French Field. (RMHS) • Athletes may compete in up to four events per meet. • Meets will start at 3:15 for field events and 3:30 for running events. Meets end around 6:15-6:45. • All athletes are encouraged to stay and cheer on teammates for the entire meet. If an athlete needs to leave early they MUST check out by signing out with one of the Coaches.

Academic Criteria: • All athletes need to meet all academic and character expectations set by Kinard, to participate on the track team. • A grade check will be done a day before the meet, to check for athletic eligibility. • Ineligible athletes will not be able to travel or participate at the meet. Attendance: • Attendance is very important in order to keep up with conditioning, strength, and technique workouts. • 3 unexcused absences from practice will result in missing the following track meet. • If students are injured, we ask that they communicate with the coaches about their injury and stay home until they are able to fully participate in practice. • Students that make all practices will get first priority to pick and compete in events at meets. • Attendance will be a factor in determining participation in meets. • Doing a make up workout sheet is not mandatory; however it is highly encouraged to help maintain your meet priority standing. Make up sheets can be picked up before the date of absence from any of the coaches or downloaded from our wiki page. kinardtrackandfield.wikispaces.com • Students missing practices regularly need to fill out the “Report an Absence” form on the website kinardtrackandfield.wikispaces.com under “REPORT AN ABSENCE HERE” • For athletes’ protection and safety, they must be healthy enough to participate at 100% the day prior to the meet in order to participate in meet events.

Equipment: • Athletic clothing o T-Shirt o Shorts o Athletic Socks o Running Shoes o Cold Weather Clothing o Water Bottle/ with name! o Spikes are optional • We will be providing uniforms for the season. Athletes are responsible for turning in all checked out equipment at the end of the year. • Missing equipment fees are as follows: • Uniform top $20 Uniform Bottom $20
