Judy Russell, a Colorado native with deep roots in Mississippi, has a bachelor’s degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and a law degree from Rutgers School of Law-Newark. She holds credentials as a Certified Genealogist and Certified Genealogical Lecturer from the Board for Certification of Genealogists® for which she serves as a member of the Board for Trustees. She is a member of the National Genealogical Society, the Association of Professional Genealogists, and various state genealogical societies. She serves on the faculty at the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR), the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG), and the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP). She lectures on a wide variety of genealogical topics, ranging from using court records in our family history to understanding DNA testing.
