THE CITY OF REIDSVILLE HAS AN IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR: RECREATION MAINTENANCE WORKER

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: Performs responsible custodial, maintenance, and grounds keeping work in the Recreation Center building and occasional care of the Teen Center and Senior Center. Work is performed in accordance with established policies and procedures, supplemented by instructions under regular supervision. Tasks require continuing physical effort. Work hours are Monday through Friday with occasional evenings, weekends or holidays. Performs related duties as required or assigned. Work is performed under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Superintendent.

Essential Duties and Tasks  Cleans floors, walls, windows, blinds, lavatories, fixtures, and bathrooms.  Changes light bulbs and fixtures, painting, leaking faucet/toilet repairs, door hinge repairs, patching walls, window repairs, gutter/downspout repairs, etc.  Moves and arranges furniture, empties trash containers, cleans ash trays, and straightens up public areas.  Scrubs and cleans toilets including mirrors, wash basins, commodes, etc.; fills and stocks tissue, towel and soap dispensers.  Removes trash from parking lots around maintained facility.  Uses tools and equipment such as vacuum cleaners, brooms, mops, wringers, hammers, screw drivers, rakes; performs maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.  Assist with front-desk coverage when needed.  Performs related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or G.E.D. or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid North Carolina driver’s license (Class C). Pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check required. EOE
