Worksheet on serial dilution In the 1st of your small containers, place 10 drops of food coloring. In each of the rest of your small containers, place 9 drops of water. The 1st container is 100% food coloring. Color the first circle the color of the container with food coloring or describe the color in the circle. Put NA or none in the space for dilution. Take one drop from the food coloring. Add it to the next container. What color is the container? Color the next circle and put 1/10 in as the dilution space. You will take 1 drop from the container you just created with the 1/10th dilution and put it in the next container. Before you do that, guess what the color will be in the container (write your guess). Do it. Color the circle the actual color (or describe it). The dilution is 1/10 times the previous dilution (1/10 * 1/10 = 1/100). Put 1/100 in the space for dilution. Continue until all your containers are diluted. Think about your guess and the actual answer. Be prepared to discuss you findings. Guess the color
