“Two Legendary Rock Industrial Bands - Together again in Hollywood for one night only!” - Skumlove
Hollywood, CA November 5, 2016 – The last time 16volt played with Skumlove at the Viper Room seven years ago, it sold out in minutes. This time they are looking to repeat that glorious event on Novemeber 18, 2016 at The Viper Room in Hollywood, CA.
After playing a successful show at The Viper Room on June 16, 2016 with Gina and the Eastern Block, 16volt is back again on November 18th with a local Hollywood favorite, Skumlove. These two legendary industrial rock bands are ready to rock the Viper Room and show Hollywood that the rock/industrial scene is not dead.
After releasing their 9th studio album, “The Negative Space”, 16volt will be debuting new songs of that album a long with a mix of their other hits. The line up for the band for this show will be Eric Powell (Vocals), Steve Hickey (Bass) with special guest guitarist Steve Wright from KMFDM and on drums, Galen Waling from the band
The anticipation of show has been creating quite a buzz around Hollywood since it was announced in October that this show would be the last show until next year.
About 16volt:
16volt is an industrial/machine rock band with Eric Powell with other performers added for live shows. Eric reformed 16volt earlier this year and has just released a new album called “The Negative Space.” 16volt also just released a video for the single “The Electric Pope” and recently performed a sold out gig at Cold Waves V in Chicago, Il on Sept 24 and will be touring nationally in the near future. 16volt was first signed to Metropolis Records in 1991 and put out their first album “Wisdom” back in 1993. They had a falling out with Metropolis and had problems getting access to their albums that they released through them after they let the label. So far they have released 10 albums over the years and also did the opening song for the video game Primal on the Playstation 2. Currently, 16volt is without a label and they prefer it that way. They didn't like how they were treated in the past by the labels and the state of the music industry, which was reflected in their song “The Enemy”.
16volt is primarily Eric Powell who writes all of the music and currently does all of the promotion himself since he is an independent artist without a label at this time. He decided that it is best to put out the album himself than to rely on a record label and did a crowdfunding campaign to fund the new album. The source of funding is done by Eric and the funds earned from the from the crowdfunding campaign.
