Course Objectives: To provide students:
1. With an introduction to agricultural mechanization. 2. With an introduction to the basic principles and processes associated with agricultural mechanics. 3. An opportunity to demonstrate their skills in selected areas of agriculture mechanics. 4. With the basic principles of safety associated with use and operation of common tools in agricultural mechanics.
Grading Procedure:
A. Grades will be determined from the following;
1. Activities /Quizzes 25 pts/ea (13, with the low grade being dropped) 300 pts. 2. Lab Assignments (7 major projects)
700 pts. 3. Safety quizzes at 14 @ 25 pts/each (Power tools)
350 pts
3. Final 100 pts. ------1400 pts.

B. Semester Letter Grades will be determined as a percentage of total points possible based on the following percentages;

C. The six major projects will be selected by the instructor from the list below and announced after the start of the semester.

D. There are NO Make-ups for missed Activities or Quizzes. (The one exception is on tool and equipment safety quizzes. It is imperative that you demonstrate your knowledge on proper use of each piece of equipment before using).
E. Quizzes will be in the form of multiple choice, identification, matching, short answer, true/false, safe/unsafe, or a combination of the above.
F. Main sources of required reading will be from the text book, lab assignment sheet procedures, and any handouts. G. Topics presented in lecture and assignments in lab may not follow in sequence with the text. Reading of the text information is the student's responsibility.
