FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 2016

THE PENINSULA HONG KONG CELEBRATES THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF ITS PARENT COMPANY WITH A UNIQUE EVENING OF MUSICAL AND GASTRONOMIC INDULGENCE AT FELIX IN COLLABORATION WITH THE ASIAN YOUTH ORCHESTRA

One of the oldest and most illustrious hospitality groups in the world, and the parent company of The Peninsula Hotels, The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited (HSH) is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2016. In honour of this momentous milestone, The Peninsula Hong Kong’s acclaimed Felix restaurant is proud to present an exclusive evening of exquisite food, fine wines and specially arranged music in collaboration with the celebrated Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO).

This unique event has its roots in The Peninsula’s long-term relationship with the AYO, which stretches back to the musical institution’s inception in 1990. Since then, The Kadoorie Foundation and The Peninsula Hotels have been loyal supporters of the AYO, including providing support for their annual tours. As well as paying homage to this support with its performance at Felix on 4 August 2016, the AYO will also play a special concert on the terrace of The Peninsula Shanghai’s majestic Palace Suite, which offers spectacular views of The Bund and the Huangpu River, on 12 August 2016.

The Felix event will see the restaurant’s celebrated Chef Yoshiharu Kaji creating a five-course tasting menu especially for the evening, using the freshest seasonal ingredients and a liberal sprinkling of culinary magic to create imaginative modern European dishes infused with creativity and presented with élan. The Peninsula’s sommelier, meanwhile, will be on hand to present a perfect wine pairing for every dish. Offering a mellifluous musical counterpoint to the meal, members of the AYO will perform throughout the evening.

The menu is priced at HK$ 1,288* per person, or HK$ 1,888* per person with wine pairing (five glasses). For reservations and enquiries, please call Felix on +2696 6778 or e-mail [email protected].
