Meeting: Monthly Meeting. Details: Canowindra Public School. Tuesday, 3rd April 2012. Meeting opened 7.05pm

Present: Donna McLaughlan, Chad Burling, Sam Burling, Julie Fliedner, Jodie Mitchell, Alison Stephens, Ashley Wright & Lisa Besedic. Apologies: Jemimah Read, Renee Sunderland, Helen Giger, Bec Dunkley, Eric Toole.

Correspondence: In: Letter/email from Read family regarding Fundraising for Triplet chairs. Out: Jody to write to Bunning’s to thank them for donation of sleepers.

Business arising from last  New book boxes are being distributed amongst classes and being well meeting / correspondence received. in  Updated photos on website and changes for update continue. Have all children signed authorisation form for use on school website, publicity etc.

Business arising Fundraising ideas for Read Family Chairs!  Approval for idea needed from CPS, Wheel – a – thon, Week 3 – Term 3, SRC to run?  Mufti Day – Idea & Date TBC  Donation  All great ideas to assist and contribute need to put plans into place next meeting. Website  Continues to be updated and is looking good

Level 1 Landscaping  Sleepers will be delivered to the School  Rob Ellis to secure top sleepers in April School Holidays  Open Gardens 14/3/2012, Ash will update display boards. Sally, Ash & Alison to be on hand to talk to people and represent the School. School Signage  Thank you to Liz for working on signs and providing wonderful options on our previous feedback.  Minor Changes  2 signs of exact information. 1xbig & 1xsmall  Get rid of BER from School Hall

 P&C to finalise signs, Pass signs by school Staff and get pricing and information to Simon Abbey of Gooloogong

Finance Change over from Jody to Julie is smooth. Report next meeting as Julie had computer problems. Financials to be signed by Treasurer

Principal reports Delivered by Donna PBL  Is working really well in the School  Children are learning respect and contributing to the success of the school environment SRC  Voting to commence for YR2 onwards Community Garden  Ideas are coming back to the School garden, children love the experience of the Community Garden and the concept is easily understood by all.  Engaging Canowindra High has been successful NAPLAN  Yrs. 3 & Yrs. 5 to commence in Term 2 Cross Country Kindy & Yr. 1 will contribute to the day for 2012 and are very excited.

CWA Public Speaking Yrs. 3-6

Eisteddfod –  Entering a number of new songs to sing  Verse, Individual, choir Technology  IPods and Camera Apps are very popular at the moment Excursion The recent trip to Sydney for the Leadership conference has been help and was very successful.

General business Easter Raffle  Good donations of Chocolate  Colouring in Competition successful  Easter Hat Parade 4th April – Infants  All raffle tickets have now been sold & money handed back to the school office  P&C owe Newsagency $20 for items for wrapping etc

Mother’s Day Stall 9th & 10th May  $2 & $5 options  Look at order form from last year & Julie has another website for comparisons  Alison to order and Julie to assist  2 days week beginning 7th May 2012. Teachers will bring students to the

stall. Infants first & then Primary  Fully run by P&C both ordering and manning  Float will be needed (Julie)  Alison away, we need volunteers to help. Next meeting to finalise this.

Bubblers –  Julie mentioned that she may be able to look into bubblers at a reduced rate due to family contacts. Yes all installed on Level 3. Well done, great job.

First Aid –  Wheel Chair kindly donated by one of our school families for use with both students and adults. Located in main office area

Bottle Tree Path – Opening  Eric to approve before any correspondence goes out to media, paver customers etc.  23rd May 2012  Opening to be help at the path. Students to sit around playground, delegates on chairs at grass area  Proposal of Mr Beasley to open path, guest speaker Historical Society?  Invites to be sent 1st week of Term 2  Morning assembly followed by a light morning tea  Captains & Prefects to run the assembly

Newsletter  An idea was raised to advertise on the back of the newsletter. Although a great idea, it will generate more work for the office, perhaps be hard to decide what particular advertising is appropriate and who and where from etc. Not to be actioned at this present moment.
