RE: CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE ACT OF THE PENNSYLVANIA LEGISLATURE 1961, JUNE 13, P.L. 282 (53 SECTION 8004) AND BETHLEHEM ORDINANCE NO. 3952 AS AMENDED.

WHEREAS, it is proposed to reconstruct the former side porch roof at 404 High St.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bethlehem that a Certificate of Appropriateness is hereby granted for the work.

CASE # 1367– It is proposed to reconstruct the former side porch roof at 404 High St. OWNER: Bruce and Gail Sinclair

The HARB upon motion by Ms. Starbuck and seconded by Ms. Glagola adopted the proposal that City Council issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for the proposed work described herein:

1. The proposal to reconstruct the former side porch roof at 404 High St was presented by Bruce Sinclair.

2. The new roof will be constructed as submitted with the following clarifications and modifications.

3. The new roofing will be GAF Slateline fiberglass shingles in the Antique Slate color.

4. The roof will not have a flat ceiling and will be open on the end towards the rear as proposed. There will be 3 fixed, Velux, low-profile skylights installed in the roof to bring light into the interior room.

5. The soffit, fascia, and entablature will match that of the existing front porch on the house.

6. The turned wood posts, decorative brackets, and railing will exactly match those on the front porch.

7. A tie to the house may be installed at the end of the porch roof if needed structurally.

8. The color will match the existing color of the house which is Sherwin-Williams SW 2338.

9. The proposed work was unanimously approved.
