Regional Account Manager, Clothing Collection Division (Wellingborough) North and South Role
Responsible to:
Sales Manager, Clothing Collection Division
Main Responsibilities:
To help maintain and develop relationships with local authority, community, civic and local commercial clients.
o Identify and develop new Local Authority clients, through outbound calling and face to face visits, negotiating the placement of textile banks on local authority land
o Identify and develop, new local commercial and community based clients through outbound calling and face to face visits, negotiating the donation and collection of unwanted goods from their customers and staff, liaising with relevant CSR decision makers and internal stakeholders
o Negotiate financially viable contracts and MOU’s ensuring that all stakeholders are fully briefed and able to meet their responsibilities under the terms of the contract, in consultation with the line manager
Managing contracts and MOU’s ensuring that the needs of the business are met whilst ensuring an exceptional customer experience, for new and in life customers as meas- ured through customer experience feedback
o Build ongoing relationships with Local Authority Recycling Officers to ensure that when tenders and opportunities become available that SATCoL are invited to tender.
Actively seek tender opportunities through OJEC or similar for textile banks, reuse centres, reuse and charitable clothing initiatives and new opportunities relevant the SATCoL offering
o Responsible for bid writing and gaining sign off with line manager o Contribute content and information to form winning tender bids
Direct and manage the workload of a surveyor(s) responsible for surveying potential new locations for textile banks prioritising according to business needs, ensuring efficiencies of journey planning, time and finances.
Take ownerships of both personal and regional team target and report sales per period
Actively seek new developmental opportunities for SATCoL Contribute data, reports and information to both partners and business cases for new methods/channels to receive donations of good quality clothes and other relevant products Develop new promotional opportunities, in line with marketing plans, including formal presentations that deliver additional income, PR and client recognition of the partner- ship value of The Salvation Army.
Continuously develop industry knowledge to ensure that post holder is up to date with own and competitors products and offerings
Support business developments alongside the management and attendance at exhibi- tions, sales events and local government recycling forums as required
Promote the values and work of Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd - established to create jobs, to benefit the environment and – through profitable trading – help fund The Salvation Army’s work in the United Kingdom
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
To be in empathy with the mission and values of The Salvation Army and have a willingness to promote that mission
Experience of customer relationship management with a customer centric mentality
Be able to diary plan and productively develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline to achieve KPI’s as laid out by the line manager
Be a consistent achiever who takes full accountability and ownership for your own development
Be flexible in working approach, undertaking any reasonable tasks required to meet the needs of the business
Experience of working with Local Authorities or supporting the processing of tenders
Build and maintain strong relationships with peers, the CCD team and across all func- tions to work collaboratively and productively
Ability to plan your own time, ensuring activities are financially viable and productive and direct the workload of others
Excellent interpersonal skills
Highly self motivated with a ‘can do’ approach
Experience of working with Microsoft Office tools, eg: PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook
Be a strong team player and committed to the ethos of a ‘team’ working environment
