EUROPE DAY MEAL 2016 Monday 9 May 2016 7.15pm for 7.30pm

At a recent committee meeting it was agreed to ask ‘The Kings Head and Bell’ to do the Europe Day meal for us this year. The venue is at 10 East St Helen’s Street in Abingdon. We know it seems a long way off, but we do need to know as soon as possible how many members will be able to make that evening so that we can confirm numbers with the pub as soon as possible. Luke has come up with an interesting menu that we hope you will enjoy! The cost of tea/coffee is included but any extra drinks you order will need to be paid on the night. Please fill in the attached form and return it to me (address below) together with your cheque for the full amount, made payable to ADTTS. Closing date is Monday 25 April 2016. The cost for this meal is £19 for two courses or £25 for three courses – this amount includes a tip for the staff. We do hope you can make it and look forward to hearing from you. Baked Baked Camembert with caramelized onion jam Camembert

Asparagus Grilled asparagus wrapped in Parma ham, with poached egg and hollandaise sauce

Fish Red mullet on a bed of couscous with a chorizo butter

Roll-Ups German ham slices filled with sauerkraut, onions and caraway, baked in German beer and topped with butterkaese.

Salad Tomato, basil and buffalo mozzarella salad with balsamic reduction

Main Course a choice of:

Chicken Chicken parmesan with basil and olive tapenade on a linguini base

Risotto Butternut squash and sage risotto

Bierock A savoury ground beef and sauerkraut mixture baked between two Casserole layers of crescent roll dough, in the style of bierock pastries (almost like a pie) Pan-fried sea bass fillet with crushed new potatoes, wilted spinach Fish and a blanc citrus beurre Chicken slowly cooked in red wine and onions served with dauphinoise Coq au Vin potato and butter kale

Dessert a choice of:

Cheeseboard European cheeseboard with stilton, brie, gorgonzola and a smoked German cheese

Tiramisu A classic Italian dessert

Rice Baked rice pudding with a quince jam Pudding

Banana Flambé banana crepes with a passion fruit dressing Crepes Literally a ‘Bee Sting’ cake, a German dessert made with a sweet yeast Bienenstich dough with a baked on topping of caramelized almonds and filled with a vanilla custard
