Bio Sketch Norman Cooper, Speaker LWV Norman, 2016 Annual Meeting

Former high school history and government teacher at Mustang, OK High School before a 26 year career on the staff of Oklahoma Education Association (OEA), where I specialized over the years in collective bargaining and legislation. Retired from OEA in 2007 and went to work immediately for Oklahoma Retired Educators Association (OREA) as Executive Director.

Native of Henryetta, OK. Bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Oklahoma.

Have lived in Norman since 1969, after return from two years active duty with U. S. Army. Wife Kathy, registered nurse retired from Norman Regional Hospital after 33 years of service. Two sons, Brad and Chris, both graduates of Norman Public Schools (Norman High School before there were two). Both are OU graduates -- one a teacher, one an attorney, both residing in Texas.
