QUALIFICATIONS 1 High school diploma or equivalent or special diploma required. . 2 Two years journeyman level experience in masonry applications, or . 3 One year experience with an approved vocational certification. . 4 Valid Florida Driver License. .

Job Goal

To complete assigned work at a journeyman level in masonry applications throughout the facility and grounds.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Working knowledge of the basic methods, practices, tools, materials, and hazards of the masonry trade. Basic understanding of and ability to perform masonry work such as block/brick laying, form layout and pouring of slabs, ceramic and other tile, etc. Good knowledge of hazards and safety precautions of the masonry trade. Ability to follow complex directions, both written and verbal. Ability to make some decisions relative to job, make materials lists, and do take-offs. Ability to order parts and materials and procure needed equipment. Ability to process work-orders electronically. Ability to relate to supervisors and subordinates issues relative to job.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Be knowledgeable and able to prepare surfaces for tile, forms, and slabs/pads/sidewalks, etc. 2. Ability to operate safely and efficiently all types of equipment common to the masonry trade. 3. Knowledgeable of and able to rig and erect scaffolding. 4. Apply waterproofing, caulking, and other compounds to buildings, walls, and floors. 5. Prepare materials lists, make simple field drawings, keep simple records, and maintain appropriate paperwork. 6. Ability to use industry accepted tools and equipment of the masonry trade such as floats, edgers, levels and other assorted hand tools, and proper methods for their care and cleaning. 7. Perform other duties as assigned commensurate with the skills and abilities of the position. 8. Provide outstanding customer service and use positive interpersonal communications skills. 9. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS Heavy Work: Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects.
