THE JIMMIES What We Do

THE JIMMIES – What We Do

The Jimmies’ repertoire is unusually broad, extending from traditional Celtic Music, to Sixties and Seventies rock and Kiwi pop. The Jimmies can deliver an evening of Irish or Scottish music and dances, a full night of rock and roll, or combine Celtic music and dances with brackets of Rock and Roll. That sort of combination has proved to be highly popular. It is the Jimmies’ ability to mix and match such a diverse range of music styles that sets them apart from other bands.

Our speciality is playing for Scottish and Irish dances and barn dances. We teach the dances and call them. So, at a Scottish Ceilidh, you will be able to dance classics like the Dashing White Sergeant, the Gay Gordons, The Eightsome Reel, St Bernards’s Waltz and Strip the Willow. Irish Ceili dances include The Waves of Tory, Siege of Ennis, Walls of Limerick and The Haymakers. Our Barn Dance repertoire includes a wide range of circle, line and square dances.

We also do Country and New Zealand and Australian folk and acoustic songs.

The Jimmies also play Rock and Roll; mainly Sixties and Seventies standards and Kiwi songs. (Song list follows):
