Regional Gross Domestic Product for 2016 - Preliminary results

According to the preliminary results of the regional GDP calculation, the value of regional GDP and the shares of the regions in the national GDP are the following: Beogradski region – RSD 1 696 449 mill. (39.8%), Region Vojvodine – RSD 1 117 298 mill. (26.2%), Region Šumadije i Zapadne Srbije – RSD 843 022 mill. (19.8%) and Region Južne i Istočne Srbije – RSD 602 511 mill. (14.1%).

Regional GDP per capita and level indices (RS=100) are as follows: Beogradski region – RSD 1 007 thousand (166.8), Region Vojvodine - RSD 594 thousand (98.4), Region Šumadije i Zapadne Srbije - RSD 431 thousand (71.3) and Region Južne i Istočne Srbije – RSD 392 thousand (65.0).

1) * In accordance with ESA 2010 and Eurostat methodology of national accounts, separately presented is the „Extra regio“, as a statistical territorial unit, i.e. extraterritorial units of the Republic of Serbia (ESA 2010, paragraph 13.11). This refers to diplomatic and consular representative offices, embassies of the Republic of Serbia abroad and other parts of economic territory of the Republic of Serbia outside its territorial borders. Calculation of gross value added for Extra regio is based on the data of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia on the employed citizens of the Republic of Serbia in such units. According to ESA 2010 (paragraph 13.11), data on GDP per capita and the corresponding indices are not presented for Extra regio. ** Starting from 1999 the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has not at disposal and may not provide available certain data relative to AP Kosovo and Metohia and therefore these data are not included in the coverage for the Republic of Serbia (total).
