Solar System Assignment DUE DATE: Monday, April 8th

You will work in pairs and be assigned a topic randomly. You and your partner must research your assigned topic and create a 15 minute presentation for the class. Your job will be to teach the class about your selected item.

RESEARCH: Your presentation must include information about the following: Background Information Physical structure Colour Atmosphere Unique features Interesting facts Placement within solar system **One thing you would like to know about this item. For example, was there once water on Mars?

PRESENTATION: You can decide how you want to present the material. You must have a Powerpoint or Prezi and Bristol board, poster, brochure or whatever other presentation tools.

The main goal at the end of all the presentations will be to create a visual representation of our solar system on the back wall of the classroom. Each group must provide their visual representation and at the end of their presentation they will place it in the appropriate spot

ALL PRESENTATIONS MUST BE READY FOR Monday, April 8th. The order of presentations will be posted prior to that date. List of Possible Topics

Choose one of the following tasks:

1. Create a visual representation of the solar system. (Include the following: Sun. Mercury. Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Earth’s Moon)

2. Create a 3D model of the solar system. (Include the following: Sun. Mercury. Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Earth’s Moon)

3. Choose an item in the solar system and create a report. You can create a written/typed report or a presentation on Powerpoint/Prezi. Include the following information: What is it? Where is it? When was it discovered? What are some unique features? What information do we know about this item? What information would you LIKE to know about this item?
