Changes to the School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document 2013

Briefing sessions available for schools

Dear Headteacher/Business Manager/School Governor

This year will see a number of significant changes made to the School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD), some of which take effect from 1st September 2013

In recognition of the number and significance of the changes, the draft STPCD was released early this year by the Department for Education in order that management in schools, including Governing Bodies, had sufficient time to prepare themselves for the changes required prior to September 2013.

As in previous years, the HR Advisory Service (PACT HR) will produce a model pay policy and has already begun consulting with the relevant Trade Unions on behalf of the schools with which it works. Once the policy has been ratified, a copy will be made available to all schools who purchase our HR Advisory Service.

To assist schools in preparation for the changes, a series of short (2 hours) briefing sessions have been planned and school leaders, including Governors, are encouraged to call and book a place on one of these. The sessions will be available to those schools that purchase our HR Advisory service and will be free of charge The sessions will provide a summary of the key changes,look at, their impact and how these can be best managed in schools, you will also be provided with copies of the local authority model pay policy, guidance documents and other relevant useful information.

The briefings are taking place on the following dates and times :

Friday 28th June 10.00am – 12.00 midday

Monday 1st July 1.00pm – 3.00 pm

Tuesday 2nd July 10.00am – 12.00 midday

Friday 5th July 10.00 am – 12.00 midday

Monday 8th July 1.00pm – 3.00 pm

All session will take place in Future House, Bolling Road, Bradford, BD4 7EB
