ALTA SKI AREA TREE PLANTING – September 7th, 2013 In Partnership with the Whole Foods Kids Day of Service

Alta, UT – August 22, 2013: See a whole new side of Alta Ski Area and join them in partnership with TreeUtah and Whole Foods on Saturday, September 7th to plant 1,500 Limber Pines and 300 Engelmann Spruce seedlings. Rugged and rewarding; this will be a fun day to enjoy and give back to the beautiful Little Cottonwood Canyon Protected Watershed. There will be an 8am start for volunteers ages 16+, and a 9:30am start for volunteers ages 8+. Volunteers will hike, take a lift ride or get a shuttle ride to access the areas in need of these vital new trees. Tree planting ends at 1pm, but volunteers are welcome to stay for a light complementary lunch provided by Whole Foods.

This year, TreeUtah and Alta Ski Area are excited for this new partnership with Whole Foods Market Sugar House & Cottonwood Heights. By joining forces we are incorporating the Whole Foods Kids Day of Service in which kids & families may join us to plant native Utah trees during the later session beginning at 9:30am. At the end of the event volunteers and families from both sessions will enjoy a complementary lunch and learn about the healthy eating resources from Whole Kids Foundation.
