MEETING CALLED TO ORDER BY PRESIDENT President Kottke called the meeting to order at 5:28 p.m. Roll was taken and is recorded above.

DISCUSSION/ACTION ON MINUTES OF THE AUGUST 6, 2012 SCHOOL BOARD MEETING AND AUGUST 13, 2012 SCHOOL BOARD RETREAT President Kottke, seconded by Mr. Panzer, moved to approve the August 6, 2012 school board meeting and the August 13, 2012 school board retreat minutes: Motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 noes, 0 absent.

STAFF AND STUDENT RECOGNITION Administrator Yoder presented a plaque to Jack Hamilton for his 44 years of service to the students of the School District of Oakfield. Mr. Hamilton has touched many lives and we wish him best of luck in his retirement. President Kottke and the Oakfield School Board recognized Matt Gross and Rollin Petersen for their success at the Fond du Lac County Fair and the Alto Fair. Congratulations to them and the Oakfield FFA Students.

PRESENTATION BY RYAN KAMPUIS, BANK OF OAKFIELD Mr. Kamphuis, president of the Bank of Oakfield, presented to the Board different options for potential refinancing of the current State Trust Loan. Board discussion followed.

DISCUSSION/ACTION ON JUNIOR HIGH WIAA MEMBERSHIP Mr. Panzer, seconded by Mr. Dercks, moved to approve the renewal of the 2012-2013 Junior High WIAA Membership as presented. Motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 noes, 0 absent.

DISCUSSION ON THE EDUCATOR EFFECTIVENESS CONFERENCE Mr. Nyhuis shared with the Board his attendance at the Educator Effectiveness Conference.

DISCUSSION/ACTION ON 21ST CENTURY LEARNING AND OPERATIONS Mr. Panzer, seconded by Mrs. Patterson, moved to approve the purchases of the smartboards and projectors as presented. Motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 noes, 0 absent.

DISCUSSION/ACTION ON 2012-2013 STUDENT/PARENT HANDBOOK Mr. Panzer, seconded by Mr. Dercks, moved to accept the Oakfield Elementary and the Oakfield Jr/Sr High 2012-2013 Handbooks as presented. Motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 noes, 0 absent.

Motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 noes, 0 absent.

DISCUSSION ON ADDITIONAL SCHOOL PERSONNEL AND FACILITY NEEDS Principal Yoder reviewed with the Board the class sizes at the Elementary School. There is one grade that has increased its enrollment this summer. Board discussed options to support this large class size. Principal Heinzelman previewed the enrollment summary and class sizes for each course at the Jr/Sr High School. Administrator Yoder shared with the Board her concerns at the Elementary School in accommodating two sections in every grade which is our future projections. After this year we will need another classroom so the Board will have to look at the different options to continue to offer our students the best education that they deserve. DISCUSSION/ACTION ON DONATED ITEM Mr. Panzer, seconded by Mr. Kraft, moved to accept the donation of a 2002 Ford F150 from Patrick Cull with the value as presented. Motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 noes, 0 absent.

CESA 6 UPDATE Mrs. Patterson shared her attendance at the CESA 6 meeting.

ADMINISTRATOR REPORTS Administrator Yoder shared an article in the Wisconsin Success Stories: Active Schools on the Oakfield Elementary School, Personal and Employee Law Seminar, the ACT Scores, and the welcome back breakfast. Principal Heinzelman shared the upcoming district staff day at TNT Fitness, cleaning at the Jr/Sr High School shop, and the registration fair.
