Ohio FCCLA Youth Advisory Board Financial Literacy Grant Intern
Intern Qualifications: Previous state and/or national FCCLA officer High school graduate currently enrolled in a university Well versed in professional communication skills: written & verbal Conducts oneself in a professional demeanor: personally and professionally ORC# Candidate must be in good standing at the university. Versed in Word, Excel, Power Point and Publishing programs Available for grant activities- March 1, 2009-March 1, 2010 (See attached 2009-2010 Ohio FCCLA Dates) Basic knowledge of financial literacy
Required Activities: State Leadership Conference April 16/17, 2009 SEC meetings May, June, December, and February (*designated time @ meetings) Attend FEFE in Arizona in June Attend Peer Educator Camp and Training in October
Job Responsibilities: Mentor high school students to enable them to peer mentor Oversee high school peer mentoring and mentoring programs to elementary and middle school students. Create a service learning financial education program that coordinates with the FCS Standards in the area of Financial Literacy. Work closely with the Financial Literacy Peer Education Team and the Ohio FCCLA State officers and other advocates. Create the Financial Literacy Program that will address a diverse population that will be introduced and used in local chapters statewide. Develop a Financial Literacy Service Learning Mentorship Resource Guide Develop a training manual for peer education team that includes scripts and handouts for the training. Communicate with peer educators once month (conference calls are permissible) Collect resources and assemble a Resource Guide for mentoring elementary/middle school children. Train Ohio FCCLA Financial Literacy Peer Educators (40-50) at Leadership Camp Create Financial Literacy Mini Grant Application, evaluate applications and select recipients of the grants. Promote Financial Literacy Projects through Web sites Network and share our project with FCCLA members from other states through workshops at National FCCLA events. Provide leadership to local FCCLA chapters Promote the Financial Literacy Quiz Bowl and Financial Literacy Challenge Awards Endorse FCCLA Saves Week and encourage sign up for the FCCLA Saves program Communicate regularly with the State Farm Youth Advisory Board and Regional State Farm Contact. Application Screening Applications will be screened by the Board of Directors Committee and narrow down to a few candidates Selected candidates will be asked to interview by a conference call
Conference Call A Board of Directors Committee will conduct the interviews Interview individually candidates for the intern position
Final Decision
Final Decision will be made the first part of March, 2009
Financial Literacy Contract Contract will be March 1, 2009 to March 1, 2010. Contract stipend is $2250 per intern Available 2 intern positions

Please note that the intern will not attend the whole meeting. The interns will a small portion of the meetings (1 to 3 hours)
Interns will work from own apparment or campus dorm room.
Expenses are paid to attend the FEFE this summer.
