Dear Fifth Grade Parents

Dear Fifth Grade Parents,

This letter is to inform you that our fifth graders will be going to Camp Crosley for our spring, 2016 study trip. Camp Crosley is a 2 day-1 night education program for students. The camp offers a variety of hands-on activities for our students’ participation.

Camp Crosley is located in North Webster, Indiana. Your child will attend camp on Thursday, April 20, and Friday, April 21. Students will arrive at school on Thursday at their normal time, and we will leave for camp at 9:30. We will return to Huntertown on Friday evening at 7:00 P.M. (Parents will need to pick up students on Friday.)

The cost of Camp Crosley is $69.00 per student. (With our can recycling efforts, the cost will be a bit less. We are also hoping to decrease the cost by hosting a Science Fair dinner in February as well as some other “in the works” ideas we have.) The $69.00 covers the cost of 4 meals, 1 night’s lodging in dormitories, and all necessary materials for the activities. We will not be collecting money until spring when much more information will be sent to you. We will need a number of parents to accompany us. The cost for the parents is also $69.00.

We feel that Camp Crosley offers a wonderful outdoor learning experience for your son or daughter. It is our desire that each student will be able to attend. However, please be aware of the fact that Mr. Meyer and the fifth grade teachers reserve the right to determine a child’s elgibility to attend camp based upon behavior issues during the school year.

We are eagerly anticipating going to Camp Crosley in April. Please contact your son’s or daughter’s teacher with any questions or concerns you might have.
