The show is affiliated to and classes staged under the rules and regulations of the welsh pony and cob society (WP&CS)

All animals must be registered or “applied for registration” in section A, B, C, D & PB of the welsh pony stud book or appendices relating to FS1 and FS2 of the WP&CS

Foals must be at least 3 weeks old at the date of show.

The WP&CS offers a bronze medal to the champion or reserve champion. The owner has 14 days from the date of show to ensure that the animal is recorded within the correct ownership

Novice ridden Heritage championship-1st & 2nd prize winners from classes 45 & 46 to compete (champion eligible for Ridden supreme championship)

OPEN RESTRICTED HERITAGE CLASSES

The three highest placed animals in each class will qualify - riders on restricted animals MUST wear an armband.

Open Ristricted Ridden Heritage Championship – 1st & 2nd prize winners from classes 47-51 to compete (Champion eligible for RIDDEN Supreme Championship)

RING 2 – CONTINUED TO FOLLOW RIDDEN M&M CHAMPIONSHIP CHAPS WINTER RESTRICTED RIDDEN CLASSES

BOTH THE OWNER AND THE RIDER OF ANY EXHIBIT NEED NOT BE A FULLY PAID UP MEMBERS OF CHAPS (UK) AT THE TIME OF COMPETITION, NOR MUST THE ANIMAL BE REGISTERED - BUT TO VALIDATE THE QUALIFICATION, BOTH MEMBERSHIP AND REGISTRATION MUST BE IN PLACE WITH CHAPS(UK) AT THE TIME OF ENTERING THE RELEVANT YEARS’ FINALS AND BOTH SECTIONS OF THE QUALIFIER CARD MEMBERSHIP/REGISTRATION FROM CHAPS (UK) ADMIN, 1 MCLAREN COTTAGES, ABERTYSSWG, RHYMNEY, TREDEGAR. NP22 5BH. ALL STALLIONS MUST BE GRADED WITH CHAPS(UK) IN ORDER TO COMPETE IN THESE CLASSES. EXHIBITS NOT TO HAVE QUALIFIED FOR HOYS IN THE CURRENT YEAR IN WHICH THE FINALS WILL BE HELD (e.g for 2018 FINALS THE HORSE OR PONY MUST NOT HAVE QUALIFIED FOR HOYS IN EITHER 2016 OR 2017) The 2 highest placed from each height/type category may qualify.

52. Non native horse (exceeding 15hh) - To be shown plaited and trimmed and to be ridden by the judge at the final.

53. Non native pony (15hh and under) - To be shown plaited and trimmed and to perform an individual show at the final

54. Native/Traditional/Cob/Show Cob Type horse (exceeding 14.2) - To be shown either with full mane, tail and feather or hogged and trimmed as appropriate, to be ridden by the judge in the final.

55. Native/Traditional/Cob/Show Cob Type pony (14.2 and under) - To be shown either with full mane, tail and feather or hogged and trimmed as appropriate.

CHAPS Restricted Ridden Championship – 1st & 2nd prize winners from classes 52-55 to compete (Champion eligible for RIDDEN Supreme Championship) The final championships will be held at BSPS Winter Championship Show 2018 at Arena UK

Rules

1. Objections- Any objections to be made in writing to the secretary with a deposit of £15.00 cash which will be refunded if the objection is upheld. All objections must be made within 30 minutes of the class taking place.

2. The officials and council of the NCPA accept no responsibility for the loss,injury or damage to any person or their property whilst on the showground, car park or approaches(all entries subject to these conditions)

3. Exhibitors alone are solely responsible for the accuracy and eligibility of their entries. No entry will be accepted unless accompanied by the correct fee. In the event of any entry proving incorrect (whether by mistake or otherwise) the entry fee will not be returned.

4.An exhibitor may not exhibit a pony bred, sold or leased or produced by the judge, his/her immediate family or his/her employer.

5. Show canes and whips must not be more than 30” long.

6. Mountain and moorland ponies must be shown in natural state.

7. Ponies must be registered with their respective Breed society and the registration number quoted on the entry form.

8. All heights of youngstock will be in accordance with the heights for the age laid down by the NPS.

9. All stallions and colts must be handled /ridden by a person 12 years old and over and be adequately bitted and under control. THE COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO EXPEL FROM THE CHAMPIONSHIP OR SHOWGROUND ANY ANIMAL NOT CONSIDERED TO BE UNDER CONTROL, ESPECIALLY WHERE A DANGER TO THE PUBLIC COULD BE CREATED.

10. Trophies must be signed for and returned at the request of the association

11. Handlers and grooms MUST be appropriately dressed when entering the ring and advised to wear hard hats.

12 .The judges decision is final.

13. In the event of the show being cancelled by events beyond our control, an administration fee of £2.00 will be deducted from each exhibitor.

14. Exhibitors must have public liability insurance when competing in NCPA events.

15. No refunds will be given without a dated vet’s certificate.

16. Handlers must note that in accordance with NCPA Rule 18 correctly secured BSI skull caps/riding hats-to CURRENT STANDARD must be worn at all times when mounted and for entrants in YOUNG HANDLER classes. In ridden classes correct riding attire to be worn.

B.S.P.S. HERITAGE CLASSES

QUALIFYING SHOW FOR THE 2018 B.S.P.S. WINTER CHAMPIONSHIPS

For Shows held on or before 31st December 2017 - “All Rules as per the 2017 B.S.P.S. Rule & Show Handbook, except for any new or amended rules as included in this Schedule.

All ponies must be four years old or over.

Animals eligible for the Restricted Heritage Ridden Classes must NOT have been placed 1 st to 8th at the R.I.H.S. (except Pretty Polly & Young Riders), or H.O.Y.S., or Olympia in the M&M Ridden Classes in 2015/2016/2017 HERITAGE QUALIFICATION Cards to be presented in the ring to ponies that qualify for the Restricted classes, these cards to be sent in with entries for the Winter Championships.

In the open (Restricted) classes the qualification will be awarded to the three highest placed restricted animals in each class - riders on Restricted animals MUST wear an armband. Animals must be registered before the date of the Show at which they qualify for the Winter Championships and must be ridden by B.S.P.S. Members, except in the case of exhibitors who have never been members before who are allowed 7 days in which to become members and register their ponies. Judges must be selected from the B.S.P.S. "Heritage" Judges Panel

NCPA NCPA Star rosettes will be awarded in classes 4,12,19,23,26. Members must enter the ring wearing their NCPA badge and be in possession of their CURRENT years membership card. NCPA registered pony rosettes will be awarded to the highest placed NCPA registered Horse and Pony in classes 47-51 and 52-55. Handlers and riders must wear a red armband and their pink card must be produced in the ring. It is condition of entry that the horse/pony registration number is quoted on the entry form.
