Job Opportunity - 2nd Assistant Superintendent

Wiltwyck Golf Club is a private club located in the Catskill Mountains of NY. It was designed by Robert Trent Jones in 1954 with bunker and tees updated by Stephan Kay in 2001. We are seeking an energetic person to fill the position of 2nd Assistant Superintendent.

The ideal candidate will be self motivated, possess a strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail to fill the 2nd Assistant position at Wiltwyck Golf Club. Applicant will be actively involved in all aspects of course maintenance including chemical applications, hand watering, irrigation repair and scheduling, project management, course setup and mowing. The individual will work directly with the Superintendent and 1st Assistant to provide an exceptional product on a daily basis.

* The 2nd Assistant Superintendent will serve in all capacities of the Golf Course Superintendent or 1stAssistant Superintendent in their absences. * Have basic personal computer skills including Excel spreadsheets, Word programs. * Report to work on time and complete all scheduled shifts. * Able to work weekends and on any given day may be required to work beyond scheduled shift. * Communicate proficiently with other department employees, supervisors and members using clear and professional language. * Establish a good rapport with fellow team members and project a positive attitude. * Train personnel in correct and safe methods and procedures to accomplish their assignments.

Applicants should possess a 2-4 year degree in Turfgrass Management or related field of study. In lieu of a degree a minimum of 2 years combined education and experience sufficient to perform the duties of position will be considered. Must have or be able to obtain a valid NYS pesticide license (3A or 3B).

Compensation for this position will be an hourly rate of $13.00 to $15.00 per hour.

This is a seasonal position (March1st - December 31st) with potential for advancement and year round employment.
