Randy Morrison  Age 67  Vietnam vet  Retired diesel mechanic  Father of five  Grandfather to five  Church bus driver  Coordinator of the Barnabas Project: a ministry of encouragement to those in the community  Co-chair of the Hospitality Committee  Children’s Sunday School Department Secretary He was a devoted father and grandfather; excellent cook; and a handyman extraordinaire. Randy was tenderhearted and always ready to help in any situation.

Barbara Morrison  Age 67  Mother of five  Grandmother of five  Retired teacher’s aide and school bus driver for Iredell-Statesville Schools  Sunday school teacher  Church bus driver  Worked with the Barnabas Project: a ministry of encouragement to those in the community  Co-chair of the Hospitality Committee  Volunteer at the Open Door Clinic  Bus driver for Japanese Language School She was a loving mother and grandmother who never met a stranger. Barbara’s kind heart and outgoing personality made her an excellent witness for Christ.

John Wright  Age 73  Father of two sons and one step-son.  Grandfather of two  Retired from Uniglass where he worked in quality control  Retired from the Army reserves  Sunday School teacher, served on the Grounds Committee.  He was active in church missions and outreach  He sang in the Joyful Singers Senior Adult Choir.  Was active in Senior Games John was an adventurer, always ready for a mission trip or athletic activity. He loved to travel and served wherever he was needed. Beverly Wright  Age 63  Mother of one son and two step-sons.  Step-grandmother of two  Retired nurse from Iredell Memorial Hospital  Sunday school teacher.  Loves to travel Beverly has a quick laugh and a generous heart. She is always ready to help in any situation.

Norma Hellard  Age 78  Mother of one  Grandmother of two  Retired teacher from Statesville Christian School  Sings in the Senior Adult choir, Joyful Singers  Leads a Women’s Bible Study  Many years as children’s Sunday school teacher Norma has devoted her life to teaching children; both in school and in church. Her contagious love is an inspiration to young and old alike.

Cloyce Matheny  Age 95  Father of three sons and one daughter  A retired Aeronautical Engineer at Boeing Aircraft  Eagle Scout with Two Palms  Was active in Boy Scout Leadership  Went on numerous Missions Trips  Vacation Bible School Volunteer Brilliant and creative; Cloyce’s kindness and heart for missions has impacted several generations at Front Street Baptist Church and in the community. Cloyce’s best advice: “Don’t stop living until you die.”

Brenda Jolly  Age 70  Mother of one daughter  Grandmother to three  A retired English teacher from Statesville High School  Employed part-time at Jones, Archibald, & Associates  Member of the Joyful Singers Senior Adult Choir An avid reader, Brenda loves to travel and is active in missions. She is a soft- spoken, gentle-spirited woman.

Marsha McLelland  Age 62  Mother of two daughters  Retired OR Nurse at Iredell Memorial Hospital  Was an avid gardener  Good News Club; school-based Christian club for children  Sang in the Joyful Singers Senior Adult Choir Marsha was kindhearted and gentle and she loved her dahlia garden at her mountain house.

Ed McLelland  Age 65  Father of two daughters  Retired teacher from Statesville Senior High School  Active in Young at Heart  He loved spending time in the mountains  Avid guitar player Ed is a good-natured and jovial man who loves “picking” his guitar.

Wanda Martin  Age 63  Three nephews  Five Great-Nephews  Semi-retired  Serves as Music Director at Enon Baptist Church  Piano player Wanda has a delightful sense of humor and loves music and doting on and playing Legos with her five great-nephews

Lynn Smith  Age 74  Father of two daughters  Grandfather of four  Semi-retired, currently working with Hexcel  Loves fishing & hunting  Is on the Welcoming Committee  A member of the Young at Heart Lynn is a quiet, kind man who loves people, especially his beautiful grandchildren.

Brenda Smith  Age 69  Mother of two daughters  Grandmother of four  Worked part-time for Dr. Haddix’s dental office  Sang in the Joyful Singers and the Celebration Choir  Co-chaired on the Nominating Committee  Served on the Greeting Committee  Loved caring for her father Outgoing and caring; Brenda loved people and looked forward to the Gatlinburg trip as a highlight of her year.

Doris Swaim  Age 68  Mother of two sons  Retired teacher, having taught at Northview Elementary, Wilkes CC, and Mitchell CC  Church Pianist  Teaches private piano lessons  Numerous mission trips Doris is a gentle, quiet woman of grace who has an uncanny love and talent for the piano. Her gift is an ongoing blessing to her church.

Steve Swaim  Age 68  Father of two sons  Retired fitness director for Statesville YMCA  Avid golfer  Hospice volunteer  Sunday school teacher  Serves on the Grounds and Fianace Committees Steve is outgoing and hilarious. He is at home in any situation and makes friends with anyone.

Marvin Boyer  Age 74  Father of four  Stepfather of Two  Grandfather of Six  Step-grandfather of five  Former Pastor of Corondo Baptist Church, Tuscon, AZ  Senior Adult and Care Pastor  Retired Music Teacher  Loves to play the piano  Jabez Class Sunday School Teacher  Teaches a Bible Study  Sings in the Joyful Singers Senior Adult Choir Marvin is a gentle giant of a man whose heart for service is as big as his smile.

Sandy Boyer  Age 67  Mother of two  Stepmother of four  Grandmother of five  Step-Grandmother of six  Retired Nurse at Tucson Medical Center and Centennial Medical Center, Nashville, TN  Volunteers with Good News Club  Small Group Leader for Children’s Sunday school class  Sings in the Joyful Singers Senior Adult Choir and the Celebration Choir  Mary Kay representative Sandy is gregarious and filled with joy. She will talk with anyone and loves children.

Benny Elledge  Age 72  Father of one  Grandfather of one  Sings in the Joyful Singers Senior Adult Choir and the Celebration Choir  Member of Young at Heart  Works with the Good News Club  Serves on the Welcoming Committee  Chairman of the Grounds Committee  Loves the Beach  Avid golfer  Retired from Pallister Furniture in Troutman Benny is a sweet, friendly man who loves spending time with his family and serving with his church. He often helps with construction projects for elderly individuals.

Libby Elledge  Age 70  Mother of one  Grandmother of one  Retired from Piedmont Farm Credit  Sings in the Joyful Singers Senior Adult Choir and Celebration Choir  Member of Young at Heart  Works with the Good News Club  Serves on the Welcoming Committee  Loves the beach Libby is a quiet, gentle-spirited friend who loves gardening and spending time with her family.
