What defines an NPAGE Scholar?
An NPAGE Scholar is a student who excels academically, displays a genuine quest for knowledge, thrives in the discovery process, is a leader among peers and embraces the attributes of integrity and honesty.
Students are required to submit a completed application form together with a copy of their current official transcript and essay responses. One $500 scholarship will be awarded each year. All applications must be submitted by March 30, 2017.
The scholarship will identify a student who best meets the following guidelines: Eligibility Requirements and Academic Criteria
A graduating senior in good academic standing
A student who has been identified at any point by the NPSD to receive a GIEP ~
Gifted Individualized Education Program
The student’s family is a current member of NPAGE
Characteristics
Strives for excellence and continually seeks higher challenges
Demonstrates leadership abilities
Exhibits creative thinking
Is extremely curious and has a thirst for knowledge Exhibits a passion for learning
Is highly motivated
Embraces the ideals of integrity and honesty
Demonstrates a high level of maturity and a strong sense of self
Seeks a challenging, flexible and diverse high school program

1. Describe an experience from your gifted education that has had a significant impact on you and explain how it has shaped your perspective or your ability to affect others.
2. Describe something that you are deeply passionate about and why.
3. If you could study any subject for a year, what would it be and why? How would you approach the learning process?
4. Describe your experience as a “smart kid” in school. Do you ever feel different from our peers? Have you experienced any specific challenges, in or outside the classroom, because you are gifted?
5. Write an essay about a place. Describe it, touching upon physical characteristics, and tell why the place beckons you or repels you or is meaningful to you in some way that brings up an emotion in you.
6. Define what you would consider terms of success for yourself.
