POLYETHYLENE SHEETING
1058.1 Scope. Thisese specifications covers polyethylene sheeting for uses in highway construction.
1058.2 Polyethylene Sheeting for Curing. Polyethylene sheeting for curing pPortland cement concrete shall be white and shall be in accordance withconform to all requirements of AASHTO M 171.
1058.3 Polyethylene Sheeting as a Bond Breaker. Polyethylene sheeting for use as a bond breaker under bridge approach slabs shall have a minimum nominal thickness of 4.0 mils (0.10 mm) and a plain surface finish. The sheeting may be natural, clear, white or color tinted with a light color., however bBlack or other dark colors shall not be used. The polyethylene sheeting shall be in accordance withconform to the requirements of either AASHTO M 171 or ASTM D 4397, except the following properties arewill not applyrequired:
(a) Reflectance requirements, AASHTO M 171 and ASTM D 4397.
(b) Moisture loss requirements, AASHTO M 171.
(c) Water vapor transmission requirements, ASTM D 4397.
(d) Luminous transmittance requirements, ASTM D 4397.
(e) Minimum net weight (mass) requirements, ASTM D 4397.
1058.4 Certification and Acceptance. The contractor shall furnish a manufacturer's certification that the material supplied is in accordance withconforms to the requirements specified.
