Recycling – material recycling facilities, household waste recycling centers.
Green energy –recovery of energy from waste.
Waste Processing –industrial waste treatment, hazardous wastes and landfill disposal.
We operate over 200 facilities in England, Scotland and Wales and employ around 2,500 employees. We recycle 1.2 million tonnes of waste each year.

The successful candidate is required to support the development of FCC’s brand within a territory. The BDM’s primary objective will be actively securing new business SME contracts to support the businesses growth targets set out by both FCC and the Regional Sales Manager.
Key Responsibilities
1. Planning and objective setting
Develop a sales plan with the RSM setting out clear objectives for the attainment of the sales budget as agreed with the Regional Sales Manager; Generate and follow up proposals from enquiry to delivered revenue of new business; Weekly and daily journeys planned in an effective and economical way to make the most effective use of time;
2. Target attainment
Standards of performance are attained when:
100% of monthly sales delivered revenue targets are achieved; The minimum number of signed contracts are achieved; Specific objectives contained within the sales plan are achieved on time. If targets or objectives are not reached, possible reasons are identified, discussed with management and positive action taken to remedy the situation; Commercial and professional acumen is used to achieve maximum profitability and contributions.
3. Administration and reporting
Standards of performance are attained when:
Up-to-date and accurate customer and sales records are maintained on sales support database; Sales reports are written accurately and submitted on time; All requests for information/special projects/market information are dealt with promptly and efficiently and by the time and date requested;
Page: 2 of 3 Regular and effective contact is maintained with team members and customer service team; Communicates effectively with team members and customers; Attend and participate in all sales meetings; on time for all meetings; Regularly appraise market trends and the activities of competitors and reports these back to the business waste solutions management team and other colleagues.
Qualifications and Experience (preferred)
Essential Criteria:
Good knowledge of the waste, recycling and environmental industry and market place; Previous knowledge of B2B sales in a fast moving environment Ability to develop and grow a sales territory; I.T. literate; Excellent communication and presentation skills; Ability to recognise commercial opportunities and develop new business; Strong networker, positive attitude, reliable, self motivated; Team worker committed to developing teamwork; Can travel to and from work areas as and when required.
Desirable Criteria:
Located within the sales territory; Waste industry knowledge; Have a good network of SME business contacts; Have experience in giving presentations to customers; Flexible to work additional hours and make overnight stays away from home, as required.
