4 March 2013. Empresa de Energía de Bogotá, EEB, was notified by RobecoSAM - Sustainability Investing, on its official entry as a selected company to be part of Dow Jones Sustainability Index in the Emerging Markets category. EEB has been invited to participate as a model company for international sustainability index since 2010.

The aforementioned certification further evidences EEB’s commitment with sustainable management across the entire corporation, adopting and reporting best practices within the framework of corporate governance, human rights, HR management, sustainable supply chain, ethical and anti-corruption practices; and at the same time engaging with stakeholders on a comprehensive management of risk, biodiversity and eco-efficiency programs, among others, as pointed out by Sam Sustainability Index.

As part of its operations and strategies, EEB establishes a series of sustainability measures aimed at identifying, managing, monitoring and reporting significant and relevant aspects of its Global Responsibility Model. This Model seeks to strengthen its relations with stakeholders and make the organization a sustainable corporation under international standards in subjects such as social, economics and environment, thus fulfilling the guidelines set in its Development Plan, “Bogotá Humana”.

According to Sam, becoming part of the emerging market index demands an even greater commitment in terms of identifying, adhering to, monitoring and reporting best practices as part of its sustainable management model and is the result of the efforts made by all areas of the corporation.
