Provincial -Train to Compete Camp Location: Wilfrid Laurier University Waterloo Ontario April 11-13, 2014

Method of Application: Club Coach Submission. Qualification Period: September 1 2013 to March 2 2014. Submission Deadline: Thursday March 6 2014 at 12 Noon.

Submission Details

Coaches must list the Event, the SCM time and the Current FINA Short Course Ratings for each swimmer.

Submissions must be based on the sum of FINA points (3 Events) accumulated from two (2) different Olympic Events not including the IM’s, plus either the 200 IM or the 400 IM.

All Submissions must be received, via email, by Dean Boles by Thursday March 6 at 12 Noon (EST), 2014: [email protected]

The 3 highest scoring swimmers, submitted in each gender and in each year of birth, will be nominated.

Ineligible Swimmers: 1) Swimmers who participated in the October 2013 Train to Compete Camp. 2) Swimmers who participated in the January 2014 Australian Youth Festival. 3) Swimmers qualified for the SNC April 2014 Australian Tour. 4) Swimmers selected to the April 2014 Tri Camp/Tour. CAMP STAFF

Camp Leader: Dean Boles, Swim Ontario Provincial Mentor Coach.

Staff Coaches: All clubs of attending swimmers must designate 1 coach to attend the camp or the swimmer’s invitation will be revoked. Team Managers: Team Manager Appointed by Swim Ontario. Minimum requirements: Satisfactory Police Criminal Record Check; excellent communication and organization skills, willingness to work with Team Leader, Coaches and Athletes.  Swim Ontario reserves the right to adjust the team selection complement as needed in order to deliver the camp within its resources and mandate.

CAMP DETAILS

Camp Focus:  Training to Compete – Technical reliability in training. Schedule & Travel Info:  Timelines are tentative.  Friday: 11:00 am – Meet/Greet/Lunch. Presentation by Kim Dawson Phd.  Friday pm: 1 Pool Session, 1 Team Building Session  Saturday: 2 Pool Sessions, 1 Dryland Sessions, 1 Nutrition Session  Sunday: 1 Pool Session, 1 Dryland Session  Sunday departure is estimated at approximately 12:30pm  Invited athletes transportation will be coordinated via Swim Ontario once the camp complement of athletes and coaches is confirmed. Swimmers Invited to the Camp:  There will be a $100 per swimmer camp fee invoiced to the swimmer’s club.  All meals, transportation and accommodation for invited swimmers will be subsidized by Swim Ontario. (Some incidental costs not covered by Swim Ontario may occur).  Bring all of your own training equipment, pull buoy, band, paddles, and fins, kick board, etc…  Bring clothes for Dryland sessions – shorts, T shirts, shoes, socks… Coaches with swimmers at the camp  All clubs of attending swimmers must designate 1 coach to attend the camp or the swimmer’s invitation will be revoked.  Swim Ontario will subsidize each coach of an invited swimmer to the amount of $250.00. Your club is responsible for the remaining expenses.

Ontario Coaches without swimmers selected to the camp:  Are encouraged to attend.  Are responsible for their own expenses.  Are responsible for making their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
