What: 12 week (66 hours) classroom instruction for medical coders of physician services. This program is designed to prepare the student to sit for the AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam. This class will include instruction in ICD-9-CM diagnosis coding, CPT-4 procedure coding, evaluation and management coding and HCPCS coding. It also will include exposure to medical terminology and anatomy.

When: First class is scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2007 from 9am-2:30pm.

Where: Tentative Location: Holiday Inn Express 21500 West Road, Woodhaven, MI 48183 or Comfort Inn and Suites, 6778 S. Telegraph Rd. , Taylor, MI 48180. Location is based on enrollment.

Prerequisites: It is recommended that participants have at least 1-2 years experience in the medical coding field and have taken a course in medical terminology and anatomy. If your experience is different than what is specified, please contact the instructor.

Cost: $1750. $150 is due at time of registration to hold your place in class. $900 is due April 17, the week before class is scheduled to begin. $700 is due May 26. Payment can be made by certified check or money order made out to Catherine Gray. Payment can also be made by credit card through PAYPAL. An online PAYPAL account is required. What is included: Twelve 5.5 hour classes for a total of 66 hours classroom instruction, student workbooks, prepared handouts, proctored exam and exam fees, exam review and preparation class, one year AAPC student membership and subscription to AAPC Coding Edge magazine. (If you are already a member of the AAPC deduct $70 from the above total)

Class size is limited. Participants are required to bring their own 2007 ICD-9-CM book (any version), 2007 CPT 4 book (AMA Standard or Professional Edition), and 2007 HCPCS book. Participants should plan on at least 6-8 hours of home study time per week.
