Sunday, April 6, 2014 Warm ups start: 8:00 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. Coaches meeting (if needed): 7:30 a.m. Competition starts: 9:00 a.m.

(Times may be changed at discretion of the Meet Manager and clubs will be notified. Coaches will be notified prior to the meet of any changes to the specifications of this meet package, unless such changes can be dealt with at the commencement of the meet without disadvantage to the swimmer.)

Eligibility: a) Open to all swimmers registered as “winter competitive swimmers” with Swimming/Natation Canada (SNC) or FINA affiliates.

b) PARA swimmers who are registered with a FINA or IPC affiliate are welcome and will be seeded according to their entry time.

c) Swimmers must be a minimum seven years of age as of the day of competition.

Competition: a) Current SNC rules shall apply except as specifically modified herein.

b) All events are timed finals. Males and females will compete separately

c) Age groups based on age of swimmer as at April 5, 2014. Female – 10 and Under, 11 – 12, 13 – 14, 15 and Over Male – 11 and Under, 12 – 13, 14 – 15, 16 and Over

d) Heats may be combined as necessary

e) Except for Backstroke events, swimmers will remain in the water at the completion of their swim to allow the next heat to get under way. Swimmers will stay to the side their respective lane against the lane rope.

f) Meet management MAY limit the entries in the 200 Freestyle, 400 Freestyle, 800 Freestyle, 1500 Free and/or the 200 Individual Medley to a specific number of heats in order to meet swim meet timelines. In these events, the Saskatchewan “AA” time standard will be used as a de-qualifying time standard, and coaches/teams will be notified prior to the start of the meet to allow for event substitutions.

Relays: Female relay events will be swum in the following age categories: 10 & under, 11 & 12, 13 & 14 and 15 & over

Male relay events will be swum in the following age categories: 11 & under, 12 & 13, 14 & 15 and 16 & over

Swimmers may only swim in one age category. Swimmers may swim above their age category but not below.

Heats may be combined as necessary.

Relay name changes shall be accepted each day up to 30 minutes before the start of the session.

Seeding: All events will be pre-seeded by time and seeded slowest to fastest. No time entries will be accepted.

Start: The FINA start shall be used for all events per SNC Rule SW 4.

Scratches: Scratches from heats simply create empty lanes, as there will be no re-seeding. Scratches from heats may be made at any time without penalty except for loss of entry fee. Clubs are requested to report any scratches no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of that day

Protests: As per SNC Rule GR 9.2.

Events: A list of events can be found at the end of this document.

Entries: All Clubs must submit entries by uploading their Hy-Tek Entry file to the National Entries and Results site at: www.swimming.ca/Meetlist.aspx

Remember: No time entries will be accepted

All meet entries must be accompanied by the swimmer’s 9-digit SNC registration number. Entries without a registration number will not be accepted.

Classification Numbers for PARA swimmers must accompany entries (ie. s6sb6sm6).

All entries must be in long course metres. Converted times will be accepted.

Swimmers are limited to a maximum of six (6) individual events.

Limitations: a) Meet Management reserves the right to limit the number of entries per event.

b) The meet is limited to 150 swimmers registered with Swimming/Natation Canada. Entries will be accepted on a first- come, first-entered basis. When the meet reached 149 entered swimmers, the next team in its entirety will be accepted.

Deck Entries: a) Deck entries will be allowed at the discretion of the Meet Manager, and only if lanes are available. Deck entries must be submitted to the Clerk of Course no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of the day in which the deck entered event is being swum.

b) All deck entries must be accompanied by a Cheque or Cash

c) Fees for deck entries will be $15 for individual swims.

Entry Fees: Individual Events – $55.00 per swimmer Relay Events - $10.00 per event

Scoring: Individual events will not be scored. Awards: Ribbons will be awarded for individual events from 1st to 8th place. Ribbons will be awarded for relay events from 1st to 3rd place only.

Meet Results: Results will be reported in four age categories: Female - 10 & Under; 11 & 12; 13 & 14; 15 and Over Male - 11 and Under, 12 & 13, 14 & 15, 16 and Over

All clubs will be able to obtain results off the Swim Canada website: www.swimming.ca/Meetlist.aspx Additional paper copies of meet results may be ordered if prepayment is made of $5.00 per copy.

Meet Safety Rules: a) SNC WARM UP PROCEDURES WILL BE IN EFFECT AT THIS MEET, AS PER APPENDIX D IN THE SNC RULEBOOK

During warm-up, no swimmer shall enter the pool by a dive. Exception: During the last 25 minutes of each warm-up session when Lanes 1, 5 and 6 are designated as diving lanes. During this period, diving and one-way swimming only, will be allowed in these lanes. Lane 2 and 4 are designated pace lanes.

b) Safety Marshalls will be on deck during warm-ups.

It is the Coach’s responsibility to ensure that all swimmers are aware of, and adhere to, these safety rules and to all rules of the facility.

General Information: a) Any meet changes will be provided to the coaches before the meet at warm up.

b) Clubs are responsible for their valuables and for the conduct of their swimmers. Swimmers caught vandalizing or pilfering will be disqualified from the meet.

c) The Aquatic Centre is a non-smoking facility.

d) Only the host club may sell merchandise at the meet.

e) Your co-operation is expected in ensuring that quiet is provided at the start of each race. No flash photography at the start of the race.

f) There is to be NO food allowed on deck. A concession will be available off the pool deck. Water in plastic containers only is allowed.

g) Teams are required to keep their respective areas of the deck clean, to use trashcans, and not to bring breakables or sunflower seeds on the deck.

h) Lockers are available in the change room; however, these are not equipped with locks. Swimmers are advised to bring their own locks if they wish.

i) Lane assignments will be posted at the pool. It is the responsibility of the coach and/or team manager to direct their swimmers to only warm up in those lanes that are assigned to their club.

j) No ‘deck changing’ will be allowed. Swimmers must go to the change room to change in and out of bathing suits.
