___3. What ever is listed on works cited page must appear in the text of the paper Check off the source on the works cited page as you come to it.

____4. Be sure to there are at least 6 different in-text citations through out your paper.

____7. Thesis statement located in the first paragraph last sentence

____ 8. Be sure to prove the thesis. Don’t go off topic.

____ 9. Indent three spaces with no quotation marks for quotes longer than 4 lines. Place author last name and page number after period.

____ 11. Vary the way you use in-text citations.

EX: “The most valuable experience is the one we most often overlook” (Smith 6).

-Or- if there is no author for the article, you will use the title article on the web site. NO MORE WEB ADDRESSES used in text!

EX: “The most valuable experience is the one we most often overlook” ( title of article and page number).

Vary the way you say “According to” as well.

EX: According to Smith, “The most valuable experience is the one we most often overlook” (6). Ex: Smith stated, ““The most valuable experience is the one we most often overlook” (6). **Even if you paraphrase information you must cite it in paper!!!!**

12. Be sure that the whole objective/requirements are included in the rough draft! 13. Identify misspelled words (dictionary in front), word choice, and comment on organizations of paragraphs. ______Is there an opening and closing sentence? ______Does the closing sentence somewhat lead to the next thought or paragraph?

14. Do not include phrases such as: “ TO start off with” “ As I stated before”

Notes: Identify the pros of the paper as well as section or areas that need improvement. ( there should be many).
