Dear Parents/Guardians,

Thank you for expressing an interest in sending your child to The Empowerment Academy. Our school is a Charter School, governed by The Empowerment Center Inc. and Baltimore City Public Schools.

Because we are a school of “choice” students and families are encouraged to follow several guidelines. These guidelines include, but are not limited to:

 Students are prepared to work daily.  Uniforms are worn daily.  Students must demonstrate the six pillars of charter which are taught and reviewed. (Respect, Responsibility, Trustworthiness, Caring, Honesty, Fairness)

We are committed to providing your child with an excellent academic education. Therefore, you should complete the attached application and returned by Friday, February 2, 2018. If we have more applicants than seats, students’ names will be entered into a lottery on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 1:15 p.m., and their names will be placed on a wait list. The snow date for the lottery is Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 1:15 p.m. Only students with completed applications that are returned by the due date will enter the lottery process. Applicant names arriving after the due date, will be placed on the waiting list as they are received. We will notify parents by letter of your child’s acceptance by Wednesday, February 28, 2018. Selected families must confirm their acceptance by Friday, April 27, 2018.

There are two “Open House” dates scheduled below so you can learn more about our school. If you would like to attend our Open House, please call (443) 984-2381 to register for one of the following sessions.

 Wednesday, January 10, 2018 – 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.  Saturday, January 20, 2018 – 10:00 am. – 11:00 a.m.

If you have any questions about the enrollment form or process, please call the school at the above phone number.
