POSITION: VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

To recruit, provide direction, leadership and undertake the management of Oriel Services Volunteers in accordance with the Vision Statement, Service Objectives, Policies, Disability Services Act, Government Regulations and Board of Management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ;

1. Duties are to be carried out in accordance with the Disability Service Standards as defined by the Disability Services Act 1986.

2. To develop and monitor policies and procedures for Oriel services Volunteers. 3. Further develop and maintain risk management plan.

4. Recruit, induct manage and monitor Oriel services volunteers  Provide support to the relevant divisional mangers to provide on the job support and relevant training to volunteers  Recruit, screen, interview and check references of all volunteers. Together with the relevant divisional mangers assess suitability of potential volunteers  Develop and maintain a volunteer register.  Develop, Implement and evaluate regular volunteer basic training program  Manage volunteer training budget  Plan and implement an annual volunteer appreciation event.

5. Maintain strict Confidentiality;

- Manager and maintain the confidentiality of volunteers/workers/clients/staff/business/finances

6. Represent the organization at volunteer coordinator events  Attend volunteer coordinators’ network meetings

7. Develop and monitor rosters for volunteers for a variety of office based, community based and home based tasks.  Make regular contact with all volunteers re: volunteer satisfaction  Conduct yearly interviews re: volunteer satisfaction  Keep tabs on volunteers on leaves of absence/ bereavement leave  Develop volunteer rosters to ensure programs are staffed  Recruit internal and external volunteers for specific assignments

8. Conform to current QA – ISO, DHHS & DSS Accreditation systems

9. To work under the same conditions of employment that applies to all staff as outlined in the code of conduct and relevant service manuals.

10. Manage volunteer budget.

11. Support and monitor the operations of the HiCity Social club and work co- operatively with Volunteers. Provide support to assist with the organisation of events including outings, community access and holidays.

12. Work co-operatively and in collaboration with other divisions of Oriel Services

13. To maintain a harmonious atmosphere within the workplace.

14. To liaise/network with disability/and other related organisations 15. Provide written reports to the CEO monthly where required and participate in regular supervision meetings with CEO 16. Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives by  Identifying areas for quality improvement related to training and volunteer management, and implement changes where appropriate

17. Participate in staff meetings and program development meetings were required and appropriate Participate in performance review and achieve the Key Performance Indicators as documented in the previous Performance Review and Development Plan.

18. To undertake training as recommended by the organisation.

19. To perform other duties as directed by the CEO  ORIEL SERVICES VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS.

1. Develop and maintain current Volunteer register.

2. Recruit a negotiated number of new volunteers within a negotiated period

3. Participate in the Quality Systems and advocate these to the volunteer staff.

4. Provide appropriate support to volunteers staff and workers in all Oriel divisions.

5. Manage the budget provided for the position.

6. Manage volunteers and annually review Position Descriptions and performance.

7. Report to CEO and Board of Management openly on operational matters and complete monthly Board reports (and other required reports).

8. Ensure volunteers perform their duties in an harmonious atmosphere and they are supported in achieving their work based objectives.

9. Support the Employment and Training Manager to ensure the requirements of the Disability Services Standards are met and Case Based Funding is maintained.

10.Recommended training was undertaken.

11.Other duties as required.
