A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Phillip Alvin Childers. WHEREAS, Phillip Alvin Childers was a native of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, born in Floyd County, Kentucky, on October 26, 1951, and the son of the late Ivan and Gail Pratt Childers; and WHEREAS, Phillip Alvin Childers was a real estate broker and auctioneer who received his auctioneer license in 1970 and joined the family business, Hindman Land Auction Company, which his father and Earnest Moore began in the 1940s. With its slogan, "No Jobs Too Large, None Too Small," the Hindman Land Auction Company pursued a tradition of excellent service; and WHEREAS, Phillip Alvin Childers represented the 92nd District in the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2002. He was the Vice Chair of the House Standing Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Vice Chair of the House Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Environment; and WHEREAS, Phillip Alvin Childers was a devoted family man. He was the loving husband of Donna Walton Childers, who survives him. Other survivors include his son, Quinton Childers; daughter, Lauren Francis; three brothers, Ivan Childers, Jr., Charles Childers, and Talmadge Childers; and sister, Paula Rollins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Orbin "Sweet" Childers and William Jennings Childers; and WHEREAS, Phillip Alvin Childers departed this earthly life on December 18, 2010; NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its most profound sense of sorrow and proffers its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Phillip

Alvin Childers in this time of his passing.
Section 2. The House of Representatives affirms Phillip Alvin Childers' contributions to the citizens of the Commonwealth and House District 92.
Section 3. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Phillip Alvin Childers.
Section 4. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Donna Walton Childers, 680 Watts Fork Road, Garner, Kentucky 41817-8940.
