FRE E Family Fun Activities - all year round!

1. Swim at the beach and thank our wonderful surf lifesavers for looking out for us.

2. See the Coloured Sands from the beach or from Carlo Sandblow.

3. Walk to Poona Lake -play spot the goanna.

4. Follow the Swap It Signs in town and take steps to the Lookout, everyone takes a photo at the propeller.

5. Spend the day at Inskip Point beside an old sink hole -- BYO picnic and shade.

6. Craft, listen to stories and enjoy the Library Holiday Activity. Our Rainbow Beach library will host a children’s activity session every holidays and visitors are very welcome with FREE Crafts stories games and activities for school age children. For Under 5's Monday mornings at Rainbow Beach library and Thursdays mornings at Tin Can Bay Library there are special First 5 forever storytelling and craft sessions.

7. Wonder at the waterfalls on the beach and the underground water systems.

8. Climb the mini-sandblow, near Mudlo Rocks, build a dam at the base and then watch it overflow!

9. Feast your eyes at the Sandblow. Our guests return again and again – breathtaking in any season, any time of the day. Just go to watch the sun slink under the horizon over the Sandy Straits.

10. Play cricket on the headland.

11. Hit the parks – play tag!

12. Touch footy on the beach.

13. Fly a kite.

14. Look for interesting shells and rocks. Try skimming rocks… 15. Ride your bike – there’s a good track out to the school road and towards Inskip Point.

16. Take your lunch to the picnic tables - kids can play in the park, while you admire the view - even spotting whales at certain times of the year.

17. 4WD to Middle Rock or to Inskip Point after Rainbow Shores - you don't need a permit.

18. Finish with a mandatory sandcastle, you are in Rainbow Beach!

19. Have you been to Seary's Creek? Another must do - read the sign there and learn about the local critters and the history.

20. Explore Mudlo Rocks - they change EVERY day!

FAMILY FUN that is easy on the wallet!

There’s lots more to do in Rainbow Beach and our surrounds. Immerse yourself in nature, more than half of the options cost next to nothing. This holiday, get the kids back to basics – to enjoying their surrounds and learning about their environment as well as being active. Come and join us!

1. Visit beautiful Tin Can Bay - get there early and feed the dolphins, bring scooters and bikes for the beautiful esplanade pathways and do stop at the fabulous playground opposite the library.

2. Fish at Inskip Point.

3. Make the most of the local markets - on most weekends (see the visitor guide in the paper for days).

4. Have a fun time at the heated aquatic centre – in holidays there are supervised sessions for kids – so Mum and Dad can enjoy an uninterrupted drink at the bar! Ask about their squads and sessions (adults are welcome too!)

5. Buy some local prawns and seafood and prepare for a feast! 6. Fish and Chips on the headland.

7. Ask us about day trips to Gympie and Maryborough - you can see a Mining Museum, historical streets, waterfalls and rock pools…

8. Workshops in Gympie’s Art Gallery – they cater to different ages with all sorts of art to create.

9. Learn to surf at the longest wave on the East Coast.

10. Paddle with the dolphins - and whales!

11. Tennis, anyone? Courts are just across the road from us.

12. Pop on the Manta Ray ferry to Fraser Island – just because! Have a wander or even a picnic and return when you are ready. Then you can say you went overseas for your holiday!

13. Watch another sun set at Carlo Point, spot pelicans, fish and at low tide kids can run on the mudflats. Also a great distance for a bike ride.

14. 4WD to Double Island Point, The Lighthouse or Freshwater – take a picnic. Spot dolphins, turtles and whales in the right season!
