BUS TRIP TO AMERICAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY (NYC) Date: Saturday, October 16th Depart: Bus Departs: 8:30 AM – Sharp! Arboretum Return: Bus Returns: ~6:30 PM, Arboretum Ages: 8 and up (Children must be accompanied by an adult) Cost: $50 per Adult $40 per Child (8-12) Does the fear of driving into New York City stop you from going and enjoying the resources of this city? If so, then this trip is definitely for you. Let the bus driver drop you off at the door to the American Museum of Natural History, indisputably one of the world’s greatest museums. You will have the day to tour the various halls and exhibits of the museum at your own pace, including the famous “Hall of Ocean Life” with its life- size replica of a Blue Whale. The only scheduled events will be an IMAX show in the Lefrak Theater and a space show in the famous Hayden Planetarium. So come and join us to enjoy one of New York City’s finest treasures.

BASKETRY ROAD TRIP: WEAVE ON A WOODEN MOLD AT ESTER PARKER’S STUDIO Date: Saturday, November 20th Depart: 7:30 AM, Arboretum Travel by Parks Dept. van 9:00 AM arrival at Esther’s Studio Return: 7:00 PM, Arboretum Cost: $35 Materials Fee: Between $20-$40, cost based on basket you choose, paid to instructor. Viewing baskets and weaving in Esther Parker’s studio is fun and educational. This “open mold” class gives you the chance of making a basket of your choice. Bring a bag lunch and drink. We will stop for dinner at a nice, reasonably priced, restaurant on the way home.

NEW YORK CITY BUS TRIP Date: Sunday, December 19 Cost: $25 Departs: 8:30 AM, Deer Path Park Returns: 7:30 PM, Deer Path Park The holidays would not be complete without a trip into the city. The smell of hot chocolate and roasting chestnuts is in the air around Rockefeller Center as onlookers watch the skaters on the ice below. Or head down toward Central Park and take a carriage ride. Join us as we travel by bus into Manhattan to take in the sights, as well as do a little final shopping. The bus will arrive in New York City in front of Radio City Music Hall. We will provide the transportation, and you can design your activities.

ROCK CLIMBING TRIP TO RUTGERS INDOOR CLIMBING WALL Date: Friday, February 11 Depart: Friday at 5:00 PM from the Arboretum Return: Friday 9:30 PM to the Arboretum Ages: 3rd grade and up (3rd - 6th grade children must be accompanied by an adult) Cost: $25 per person Do you like a physical challenge and lots of fun? Then join us on a trip to Rutgers University’s 25’ high, 80’ long indoor rock climbing wall. Professional belayers will be there to help guide you. No experience necessary. Please wear appropriate footwear and bring a snack and drink.
