Suggestions for Sharing the News about the AP® with WE Service Pilot Program

Congratulations! Your school has been selected to participate in the AP with WE Service pilot program. This program will help teachers integrate service-learning opportunities into their AP curricula, while allowing students who complete the program requirements to earn a recognition that will be communicated to colleges and universities.

The AP with WE Service program will connect a rigorous academic experience with service- learning in an effort to help students become compassionate leaders and active citizens. Through this model—which encourages broader discussion of demanding academic material due to the interactive and problem-based nature of service-learning projects—young people will be urged to take action on the issues that matter most to them. Students will be empowered to learn about local and global concerns, engage with communities, and act as change agents for specific causes.

Your school is one of the first in the country to take part in this innovative program. Here are some suggestions for sharing the news about your school’s notable participation in this pilot:

1. Include information on your website and/or in a district newsletter 2. Share via social media (see below) 3. Share the template press release with local media outlets

The College Board will be posting information about the pilot program online, sharing the news with our members on our All Access blog, as well as through our social media channels. If you have any questions about the pilot program, including about data in the press release, please contact [email protected]
