1. The DANA Advokit has arrived! DANA is proud to announce the launch of its new online advocacy tool, the Advokit, to be found at www.advokit.org.au, a website specifically targeted to provide dedicated and detailed information about the NDIS and DisabilityCare Australia.

The Advokit has been developed by DANA, as an NDIS Practical Design Fund Project, and aims to provide advocates, including people with disabilities, their families and friends, with the knowledge required to achieve good results for people with disabilities in their interactions with DisabilityCare Australia. We would appreciate any feedback or suggestions: http://www.advokit.org.au/provide-feedback/. We hope it is useful resource and encourage member organisations to share the link and logo.

DANA is seeking contributions to the content and appearance of the Advokit website in the form of case studies and photo contributions. Case studies should be associated with participants, participant's families and advocates experiences in the NDIS launch-sites. Case studies, in written or video form, may be contributed via http://www.advokit.org.au/submit-a-case-study/. We would also encourage readers to send any photos which demonstrate a person with disability accessing support expected to be provided under the NDIS to [email protected]. 2. Joint Statement of Peak Disability Representative Organisations on ADE DANA, along with other peak organisations, calls for an immediate transition from the continued segregation and exploitation of people with disability under the Australian Disability Enterprises model to genuine work training, skills building opportunities, and evidence based service support that leads to open mainstream employment for people with disability. BSWAT, the most common wage system used in ADE, has recently been ruled discriminatory by the Full Federal Court.
