Description: Amina Plaster-In-Wall 544E high gain flat panel loudspeaker suitable for installations where the panel loudspeaker is required to be completely invisible by plastering within a wall structure.

For corporate, leisure, retail, exhibition and custom home applications requiring completely discrete but powerful sound systems, the Amina Plaster- In-Wall Panel loudspeakers provide a unique and unobtrusive high quality voice and music reproduction solution.

The Plaster-In-Wall panel loudspeakers are mounted very simply from the front using screws into suitable noggins placed behind the panels ensuring it is flush with the plasterboard or wall surface..

Coverage: One panel will be sufficient to create an even sound level in a room 8m x 5m when mounted at an average height of 1.2m above ground level. Add one additional panel for each additional 40m2 area coverage required. Space the panels evenly across the space to be covered. In surround-sound applications, position the panels accordingly (e.g. front left, front right, front centre, rear left and rear right)

Typical Venues: Board rooms, conference rooms, retail premises, health clubs, hotels, specialist exhibition pieces, high end home installations.

Product outside dimensions: 450mm x 345mm x 33mm (perimeter frame), 53mm central area.

Active Panel Size: 450mm x 345mm x 7mm

Panel Material: High gain; aluminium honeycomb, grey polyester skin. 975g/m2

Product Weight: 2.5Kg Product DATA Sheet: AIW544E, Continued….

Frame: Natural silver anodised aluminium, Nylon corner sections.

Fixings: Four front access screw locations, one in each corner.

Electrical connection: Industrial spring clip (Optional Speakon connector available).

Impedance: 8 ohms nominal Phase remains within +36/-5 degrees for DC – 20KHz [graph shows impedance magnitude vs. frequency and phase vs. frequency]

Sensitivity: 85dB/2.83V/1m (With thin coat of plaster applied) 95dB/2.83V/1m (Excluding plaster coat)

Power Handling: [Power ratings assume full bandwidth operation and a thin coat of plaster. To avoid excessive mechanical noise a 'brick wall' high pass filter is essential. This will increase the power handling and the subsequent peak sound pressure level]

Maximum Continuous (RMS) power input = 80W (high pass filter @ 100Hz) Peak programme power input = 160W (high pass filter @ 100Hz) Peak SPL (continuous - with plaster) > 100dB @ 1m (high pass at 100Hz) Product DATA Sheet: AIW544E, Continued….

Peak SPL (peak programme - with plaster) > 103dB @ 1m (high pass at 100Hz) Minimum Filter requirement: Brick Wall, 180Hz.

Placement: For best results, place in a cavity larger than the panel itself. This will enhance the final bass response.

Equalisation: For the very best audio reproduction, some in line equalisation may be necessary to correct the bass response from the cavity, and any variations caused by plaster depth.

Frequency response: 100Hz – 20000Hz [+/-5dB] 1m On Axis Frequency Response: [Panel without any plaster skim]

“Windowed” MLS measurement to simulate anechoic response. Product DATA Sheet: AIW544E Continued…. Frequency Response: [Graph shows typical SPL vs. frequency for finished wall with thin plaster skim. It Includes the acoustic contribution from the measurement room, which affects the response more significantly below 300Hz, but gives an indication of the panel’s low frequency ability]

Dispersion angle: Greater than 150 degrees. [Graph shows typical SPL vs. frequency measured at different dispersion angles for a TYPICAL Amina NXT panel. Response below 200Hz is inaccurate] Product DATA Sheet: AIW544E Continued….

Measured 1m from panel. Red Trace – on axis, Blue Trace – 1m off axis, Purple Trace – 2m off axis, Black Trace – 3m off axis.

Installation Instructions:

1. Cut out section of plasterboard in stud wall to suit the product. The product has outside dimensions of 450mm x 345mm. Ensure all cables are brought to this point and check their continuity. (other sizes are available) 2. The depth of the Amina panel at the frame perimeter is 33mm. Create a suitable noggin behind each corner of the panel to ensure the front surface of the panel is flush with the front surface of the plasterboard. Please note that the depth of the panel in the central area is 53mm. 3. Fasten the panel to your noggin using a suitable screw through the single hole in each of the four corners of the panel. Ensure the whole assemble is rigid and not loose in any way. 4. Ensure the panel is electrically connected and tested fully before commencing plastering. 5. Coat the surface of the Amina panel with one coat of PVA adhesive. Fill the corner sections over the screws with silicon or other filler compound. 6. Use joint tape to cover the small gap between panel and your plasterboard. With a tight fit this may not be necessary. 7. Skim over the panel and the plasterboard (filling all edges with plaster) to create a smooth surface finish. Allow plaster to dry fully before using as a loudspeaker. 8. Best acoustic results will be achieved by keeping the plaster skim as thin as possible. 9. Finish the surface of the plaster with paint or wallpaper. 10.It is recommended that you allow for some equalisation in your system specification to allow adjustment of the final frequency response. 11.If the panel is placed in a wall which effectively forms a sizeable cavity behind it, the resulting sound will be very heavily bass weighted. You may need equalisation to reduce this bass response. 12.If you are installing the unit in a stud wall structure, it is recommended that a wood based structure be preferable. Metal based stud sections tend to rattle very easily and should be avoided. Ensure no loose objects, e.g. screws, are left inside the cavity. 13.This product must be fed with a signal that is filtered at 180Hz (brick wall) to ensure long term reliable operation.
