Applications should be addressed to CSM Student Competition in a sealed envelope. ● Applications are due by 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 10, 2015

ABC Competition (Associated Builders & Contractors) The purpose of the ABC competition is to produce a proposal consisting of a full project estimate and schedule, a project management plan, a safety plan, and quality control plan. The team then goes down to the ABC Leadership Conference and participates in a bid day activity and submits a revised proposal, based on the results of those proposals a select number of teams will be shortlisted to make a presentation and

Page 2 2015 CSM COMPETITION TEAM Team Questionnaire participate in a Q&A session with the judges. These exercises provide students with real world experience and give them a sense of what a day in the construction industry may be like. Around twenty schools from across the country compete in this competition on a yearly basis, and Ohio State has a history of success in this event. Last year’s team placed second overall out of twenty-three schools. We are looking for students that are willing to work hard and while no experience is necessary some construction experience is preferred. The proposal will be received, evaluated, and turned in within 10 hours. The proposal will include: team selection, scheduling, logistics planning, estimating, risk analysis, constructability review, resource allocation, and safety. No bid documents will be provided until the day of competition. Time commitment: Meet (2) times a week for (2) hours. 3 days off of class. Who: No previous experience needed. Open to sophomores, juniors, & seniors. Where: Chicago, Illinois.
