Reflections

Charlene Atig: A teacher must be creative, resourceful, good grammar, unique ideas and art skills to be able to come up with effective board displays.

As for me, I still have to develop all this skills mentioned. By doing this, I should allow myself to follow rules in the proper way of enhancing my abilities and techniques to be artful and creative enough. Because I am incompetent when it comes to this skills.

Practice gives effort and time to be able to come up with a good output. As a future teacher someday, I need to extend my capabilities of doing something to become artistic when it comes to board display.

Ellvine Pia Bonocan: In order for a teacher to be able to come up with effective board display he/ she must possess the following skills:

1.) Creative. He must be creative in a way that he can come up with an interesting board display so that the students will get attracted to the board display.

2.) Visual skills. Teachers are somewhat like interior designers; they must be able to visualize the presentation and impact they want to create, and then apply those to the display.

3.) Imaginative. In a way that he may able to look for a unique ways or ideas in order to come up with an effective board display.

4.) Open-minded. It is very important that the teacher must be open-minded because every time his students will share ideas he is always ready to listen to it. 5.) Artistic. Being artistic teacher will help you come up with an effective board display. You know how to make simple ideas more meaningful or catchy in the eyes of students.

I think I have all this skills but what I need is, to enhance what skills I have right now so that I can apply it when I will become a teacher. I love to design and make thinks beautiful through arts but my weakness in terms of arts is drawing. I need to develop this skill so that I can apply it in making an effective board display.

Annie Rose Calumpang: Five skills that a teacher should have to be able to come up with an effective board display are: he must be decorative so that he will catch the students attention through making his display colorful or other ways to beatify the board display. Organizational skills. This includes comparing and contrasting, grouping, and arranging content in a meaningful way. Creativity. He must know how to create his own design through his unique ideas. Minimalistic views. Teachers should know how to minimize content in their board display. Rather than a display aimed at students who understand the most, the best, or the easiest, the display would be geared to include students who understand the least, the poorest, and the hardest. Communication skills. Teachers know that words combined with visual content can often communicate more than words alone. As well, the teacher must be a good communicator.

What I want to improve is creativity. Creativity is very important because it is closely tied with higher order thinking skills. If I have this kind of skill. I can create and be a new knowledge or a new product for me. Also it is a kind of skill that lead to a new insights, fresh perspectives, and whole new ways of understanding. To developed this skill, I should have an understanding of existing knowledge to know what I am contributing something new to this body of knowledge and I should have passion to learn more about creativity.

Roxanne Dela Cruz Five of the basic skills to be able to come up with an effective board display is a teacher must know how to attract students. To attain it a teacher must practice originality, creativity, color combination, formal content, and must be understandable. These skills are mostly what I heard from my previous teachers. They said you must prefer the student-centered and let students be attracted to techniques that are being applied.

Being creative is one of the skills I have. Second, is on combining colors. I practice the skills through searching and comparing my work to others. And sometimes if I already have the idea I work on it.
