October 13 Received offer from CEFM for 700 doses of flu vaccine

October 15-22 Collaborated with county healthcare agencies/organizations and created initial distribution plan

October 25 Met with healthcare representatives to validate distribution plan

October 25-29 Finalized numbers and organized initial flu clinic Recruited CWU Paramedics to help with injections

Nov. 1 Press conference to announce distribution plan and dates of flu clinic, Nov. 8 -9 Began taking appointments for flu clinic, Nov. 1.

Nov. 3 Received 300 doses from Aventis Pasteur distribution plan

Nov. 8, 9, 12 Distributed 460 doses of flu vaccine at KCPHD

Nov. 8-12 Finalized numbers on initial distribution plan

Nov. 15 Received 300 more doses of flu vaccine from Aventis-Pasteur a. Contacted provider groups a second time to catch anyone who did not get vaccine the first time around. b. Contacted volunteer EMT community in upper county. c. Targeted effort to get pregnant women in for a shot – WIC, First Steps, private providers.

Nov. 19 Received word from DOH that we were eligible for 1000 doses a. Queried providers to see who might want vaccine. b. Provided list of clients already receiving vaccine to providers.

Nov. 23 Green light to DOH to ship our allotment. 11.15.04

Summary:

1. As of November 22, the following doses of flu vaccine have been administered to high-risk adults in Kittitas County: Kittitas County Public Health Department 733 – clinic/distribution Cle Elum Family Medicine 620 Fred Meyer Pharmacy ~1075 Safeway Pharmacy 10 Rite-Aid Pharmacy 400 Super 1 100 KVCH (from Fred Meyer) 200 CWU 400 to date Total 3538

2. Central Washington University received 400 doses from Aventis Pasteur (11-5-04) and will receive another 400 this month. They have offered to share with KCPHD after administering to high-risk faculty, staff, and students.

3. Washington State Department of Health received 160,000 doses from CDC-Aventis Pasteur (11-12-04) distribution plan. KCPHD will get some of that but the amount is unknown at this time.

4. All healthcare providers/staff and all emergency response personnel in our county have been offered flu vaccine this year.

5. CWU faculty ran the data for us to get an estimate of high-risk persons in our county. Those numbers are: ~5772

6. We estimate that ~6000 doses were ordered initially by providers in our county.
