Industrial Hygienist / Asbestos Consultant

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will be able to provide asbestos, lead, exposure assessment and indoor air quality services. Working either alone or as part of a team they will need to be able to conduct industrial hygiene surveys for noise, indoor air quality, mold, asbestos, lead and PCB’s.

Candidates will further need to write reports, which include compilation of quantitative and qualitative data, comparison of findings to standards/guidelines, as well as recommendations. Coordinate on site abatement activities to support planned work to include large and small construction and renovation projects, respond to emergency abatements, chemical spills and releases as needed. Field work requires ability to carry and utilize testing equipment, use ladders and inspect roofs.

Qualifications:

> Bachelor’s degree, preferable in environmental science or industrial hygiene > 2-3+ yrs experience, with a minimum of 1-2 years of asbestos inspection and report preparation experience > Experience with building systems and/or construction > RI or MA Asbestos Inspector License > Be familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) > Must possess excellent problem solving, communication and report preparation skills > Local travel required > Be willing to work off hours and weekends > Be physically able to carry 50 lbs., work on ladder, and wear a respirator during normal activities. > Reliable transportation and a clean driving record.

Desired Qualifications:

> RI Asbestos Inspector License > MA Asbestos Project Monitor License and Asbestos Inspector License > CT Asbestos Project Monitor License and Asbestos Inspector License > Experience conducting Phase I site surveys a plus > Current 40 Hour OSHA Hazwoper training a plus
