Monticello Youth Program, Inc. Meeting Minutes May 28,2009 Silver Creek Township Hall

Attendees: Steve Olson, Ben Monahan, Tom Frederick, Jamie Preusse, Danelle Preusse, Gretchen Frederick, Lisa Richard, Jeff Richard, Teri Willenbring

Call to order 7:10p

Approve April Minutes with correction of gambling profit for April amended to <$3448.01> motion to approve by Steve Olson seconded by Jeff Richard, Motion carried

Treasurer Report $1500.00 sent to Annandale School for Jake Sunblad Memorial scholarship. Goalie training figured at $230.00 per year per Goalie. Ben Monahan Highschool Coach recommends starting a 1x a month Goalie Clinic for all levels including High School starting September 1, 2009 and continuing thorough out the season at no cost to the goalies HS to buy ice time and youth Association to pay for training up to $150 hr. No board vote on this topic but Board will review at later time once ice availability is determined. Checking account balance Premier Bank $33,835.22 First MN Bank account closed to $0 Balance.

Steve Olson brought up idea to rotate meeting locations to accommodate a wider group of membership ideas include bar locations or meeting rooms in respective towns. Website was brought up to streamline information on front page and keep current types of news on front page to streamline the website Tom F and Steve to talk to Tim A. Webmaster.

Jamie Preusse gave Gambling Report as Trent Gifford on vacation. Gross profit operation April $109,711.00 Prizes paid $95,340.00 Net Profit $14,371.00 Allowable expenses May Approved Totaling $16,889.76 Motion to accept by Steve Olson seconded by Tom F. Motion carried.

ATV Raffle sales are down for the upcoming Raffle idea to make tickets available at Jeff and Lisa Richard residence and Mary and Joe’s house and try to really maximize upcoming events to sell at, as we need the income from the raffle to cover the costs to administer it.

Steve O brings up meeting that was attended by several District 5 Presidents concerning District 5 policies and rules and the need to make changes to the existing rules that are more restrictive than current Minnesota Hockey guidelines. Talk of some associations changing districts or possibly starting an I94 District to limit travel and increase competition for the eastern Associations.

Tom F. brings up that we need to make a decision regarding registration and the need to streamline it into possibly an online only registration. Pro’s $$ now no NSF’s, ability to track real time payments and track payments on time. Con’s cost. No decision made Tom F to present at June Board meeting with exact figures.

Home tournaments Squirt A December11-13 2009, Squirt B February 12-14 2010, Squirt C February 26-28 2010.

Hockey season starts…. Pre Season clinics start September 14, 2009 and Tryouts will start October 7, 2009

Ben Monahan discussed that the Highschool will practice 3:45-5:15p 2x a week and 3:45-5p on the off days which is 15minutes later than in the past. High School will be having a youth mentorship program with the players where they will be required to practice with the youth 2x a month and attend 1 youth game a month. We will not have Youth night at the HS games instead will have an assigned youth team to the game that will sell Chuck a Puck and do starting line up and warm ups with HS. Mite games at HS Games will be December 12, 2009 January 9, 2010 and January 26, 2010. Skate with the Stars date will be December 20, 2009.
