Agenda Agenda Item Item No

1. Notes of last Meeting

Notes from the last meeting were agreed as an accurate record.

2. Results of Patient Survey

Results of Patient Survey passed to each person present. Will be on the website by 31.03.2014. All comments made by patients discussed and it was agreed that the surgery provides a wall mounted baby changing unit in the patient’s toilet. See any other business for further discussions.

3. Website Updates

We have changed providers for our website, feedback very positive. Patients booking online appointments can add comments for doctor to view prior to appointment. Still need to encourage patients to order prescriptions online.

4. Any other business

Dr Cheong explained to the group that the North Sector surgeries (Woodbank, Tottington, Ramsbottom, Greenmount) are joining Bury GP Federation. Tottington Health Centre will be the central point for Saturday and Sunday appointments between 09.00am and 12.00pm and also weekdays possibly to 8.00pm. There will be a rota for the GP’s which will mean one session in 6 months. These will be by appointment only with a GP.

Discussions regarding Temporary Residents being refused treatment.

It was brought to our attention that a family had been allowed to register the baby temporary but not the parents and had been directed to the Urgent Care Centre in Bury. Patients being seen at the Urgent Care Centre cannot be referred and need to be registered with a GP for continuous care. Patient can be kept waiting for one and a half hours when attending. Temporary Residents will be discussed in detail at our next Practice Meeting to ensure this does not happen again. Will report back to the next Patient Participation meeting.

1 Suggested we purchase a children’s chair for the children’s play area in the waiting room.

Stan Edwards (Patient Cabinet Member) came to speak at the meeting to inform of changes and also feedback information. Royal Oldham are working toward clinical excellence which will add on to the total experience for patients. Bury Times published that Bury were under funded for the next year and that this is not a crisis but public opinion can put pressure to have funding increased.
