Yew Wah Primary School July Newsletter Family Fun Day

Our school’s Parent-Teacher Association organised a day trip to Tai O last month. The sun shone brightly that day and everybody brought lots of food for the picnic. After lunch, we all went on a boat trip to see the Chinese White Dolphins. At first, we could not see any and we were quite disappointed. After about two hours, we finally saw one small one. It swam quite near to us. Some of our classmates were puzzled when they saw the dolphin. They thought the dolphins were white but they are actually pink!

When we got back to Tai O, we walked around the village and bought some souvenirs. Many parents bought dried seafood such as salted fish and prawns. We then had some snacks and drinks. At five o’clock, we left Tai O. When we were coming back to Victoria Harbour an hour and a half later, we saw a lovely sunset. The sky’s colour was orange and red and the harbour looked beautiful.

Next month’s highlight: The Hiking Club is organising a visit to the Wetland Park. All students, parents and teachers are welcome. The tour will include a talk by the Wetland Park staff, a visit to some special areas in the park and some booklets on the subject.
