Millersburg Fire Company No. 1

The regular monthly meeting of the Millersburg Fire Company No. 1 was called to order at 1930 hours on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 President Sean Grimm presiding. The prayer was offered by Jim Wruble followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

The following members were present: Heather R. Alleman, Jack Bachtell, Matt Carr, Colby Challenger, Jessica Enders, Paul Enders, Troy Enders, Sean Grimm, Chris Hardy, Donald Harris, Vince Heckert, Bob Hooper, Gary Ibberson, Kristin Ibberson, Rick Ibberson, John Koppenhaver, Torrey Miller, Mike Sedesse, Branson Smith, Cameron Snyder, and Jim Wruble.

The minutes from the January meeting were distributed to the membership prior to the meeting. A motion was made by Paul Enders to approve the minutes. The motion was 2nd by Torrey Miller and approved.

The Assistant Treasurer’s report was given to the members before the meeting. A motion was made by Rich Martz to approve the report as submitted. The motion was 2nd by Paul Enders and approved.

The Treasurer’s report was also distributed prior to the meeting. A motion was made by Matt Carr to approve report as submitted. The motion was 2nd by John Koppenhaver and approved.

Line Officer Report

Chief 20  Chief 20 was at work but sent report.

o SOP/SOG’s have been released and are on member section of website. There will be hard copies in the station as well.

o Girl Scout tour will be visiting station on February 27th.

o Make sure we are cleaning up around the station and especially the table.

o Make sure when bringing apparatus back from fire that fuel gauge is over ¾ full.

o Training Report

Chief 201  Blue light registrations need to be filled out and turned in to an officer. This information will be provided to PA State Police. Chief 202  Chris reported back with some prices on saws and socket set for Engine.

o Lehman’s would be able to get these saws for us for $ 103.00 a piece and his suggestion would be to purchase two of them.

o He also got prices for mechanic socket set.

. Home Depot- 149 piece set $ 149.00

. Lowes- 154 piece set $ 149.00

. Cameron stated he would get price for set from Pep Boys.

Chris made a motion to purchase 2 saws from Lehman’s and socket sets not to exceed $ 500.00. The motion was 2nd by Rich Martz and motion passed.

Chief 203  January we ran 15 calls.

 We are looking into doing some voluntary commercial pre-planning. Colby is working on getting a list of businesses to send letters out to come in for preplanning meeting. Anyone interested in helping with this please see Colby.

Committee Reports

Property  Thank you to trustees for cleaning up and fixing things upstairs.

 The area down by the hose reel was has been cleaned up. There was a number of chamois and sponges that were lying on the ground and cluttering up this area. Please make sure this area stays clean.

Equipment  Attack 20 will be out of service one day this month for maintenance.

 Maintenance Unlimited sent information concerning hose testing. They are offering .26 per ft. Donny made a motion to get hose tested. The motion was 2nd by Rich Martz. Motion passed.

 We have 4 new batteries for Engine 20. Fire Police Nothing

Public Relations  Banquet will be held on June 25th at the Golf Course. We are in the process of looking for a DJ for the banquet. If anyone has suggestions please contact Heather.

 February 17th @ 6:00 there will be a meeting held with the ministerium concerning the Memorial Service.

 Anyone interested in participating in the St Baldricks fundraiser that Gratz Fire Company is hosting please let Sean know.

Membership  Ashton Snyder has applied for active membership. The membership committee would like to recommend her for membership pending the results of her background check. The motion was made by Torrey Miller and 2nd by Heather Alleman and passed.

 The following people still have outstanding membership dues:

1. Ryan Novak

2. Jason Kissinger

3. Dave Shelleman

We will give them until the end of March to pay their dues.

Old Business Nothing

New Business  Sean attended the Wiconisco Banquet where we received a Certificate of Appreciation.

 The website is being updated more frequently. You also can find prior meeting minutes and other documents in the member portal. If anyone needs their log in information, please see Sean.

 Sean attended the rally at the Capitol today concerning the Sprinkler Mandate. Sean encouraged members to contact the legislators and voice your stance on the issue.

 We need an auditor. Rick would like to make a motion to appoint Donnie Geyer as auditor. The motion was 2nd by Paul Enders and approved.

Correspondence  Thank you was received from Millersburg Area Working Together. There being no further business a motion was made to adjourn the meeting by Paul Enders, 2nd by Donald Harris and meeting hereby adjourned at 2010 hours.

The regular monthly meeting of the Millersburg Fire Company Relief Association was called to order at 2011 hours on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 President Sean Grimm presiding.

Treasurer Gary Ibberson reported that the following bills needed paid:

Longley Insurance $ 1,800.00 accidental death insurance

Rescue Remedies $ 1,761.79 gear and gloves

Gary would also like permission to pay Verizon bill when it arrives. A motion was made by Paul Enders and 2nd by Rich Martz to pay the bills including the Verizon bill. Motion passed.

There being no further business a motion was made by John Koppenhaver to adjourn the meeting. The motion was 2nd by Troy Enders and meeting adjourned at 2014 hours.
